BRUNO MARS "unorthodox jukebox" cd,2012
another of my 2012 purchases...
not a bad R+B/soul album....not as good as his previous effort "doo wops and hooligans" IMO.but still reasonably good for a modern album...
only two tracks i love here,"if i knew" and the superb mega-hit "when i was your man"...the latter surely destined to be one of music's classic songs from this decade or any other decade for that matter!
...love the guy's vocals though, very Michael Jackson in parts.he sure has a bright future ahead of him IMO,very talented guy!

D-12 "d-12 world" cd,2004
D-12 are Eminem's homey's from Detroit who he grew up with and rapped with on the streets and at rap battles throughout the city...
D-12's second album...not as good as the debut set "devils night" IMO, but still pretty good for rap...
as you'd expect from these guys lots of foul language here and if you can get passed that crap they have some humorous,intelligent commentary on life in Detroit...
a few of those annoyinf skits on here also, but thats been a part of Eminem's trademark from the get-go...
four songs i simply love on here,the best is "how come" which is about the breakdown of a lifelong friendship(not sure who its about but Eminem usually raps about people in his life,so i guess he is pissed off with someone with the way he spits the lyrics out!)...
lead off single from this one was the average "my band", sure its funny and the video is cool but its not one of Em's/D-12's stringer tracks IMO,but it was catchy enough to be a worldwide mega hit...
the album either got to #1,2 or 3 in the charts of most countries(according to wikkipedia), and the singles 'my band' and 'how come' were huge hits also...strange to note that "40oz" was also a minor hit here, but failed to chart anywhere else which is strange(maybe it was only released here)
all up though, an interesting album by Eminem's side project...
D-12 have not released any material since this one,not sure why, but not long after its release Eminem's best friend and D12 member "proof" was shot to death in a Detroit nightclub by a security guard, cant recall the guard being charged with his death, and as far as i know the details surrounding his murder are hazy to say the least!
