Yes it does appear that the infection rate is slowing. Vaccines are kicking in. First good news we've had in a long time. Infection rates in Ireland have fallen by almost 50%. 'Daylight Again'. Long may it last.

They will arrive in dribs and drabs - at the end of the first quarter and in further increments. https://sacoronavirus.co.za/2021/02/12/sona-2021-vaccination-highlights/ - meanwhile, we are thankfully slipping down the leaderboard again and seem to have a good recovery rate - mind you, there are also a lot of additional deaths that have not been attributed to Covid which probably should have been - plenty more people who've had it and recovered too, without confirmation/reporting.

one of our major airlines has predicted that flights will not return to normal on a global scale until at least 2025.

a couple of reasons for this i suspect:
1: the vaccines are now underway
2: countries are now following Australia/New Zealand's lead in quarantining incoming persons
3. more countries now taking the virus seriously and promoting the use of masks/sanitizer etc etc....

both still a long way behind the gold medalists, USA, with 28.7 million confirmed cases.
the good news is that America is recording 50% less daily cases than it did at the beginning of January.
