RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-09-2020 Netflix: this must see doco on the effects of Social Media companies and the ways they manipulate us, the individual. insiders/whitleblowers explain how they manage to get insideour heads into thinking we need these platforms etc... this is a really scary show, you should all watch it with your family NOW, seriously and no, its not scaremongering, it just highlights the good and the bad associated with social media from Wiki: The Social Dilemma is a 2020 American docudrama film directed by Jeff Orlowski and written by Orlowski, Davis Coombe, and Vickie Curtis. The film explores the rise of social media and the damage it has caused to society, focusing on its exploitation of its users for financial gain through surveillance capitalism and data mining, how its design is meant to nurture an addiction, its use in politics, its impact on mental health (including the mental health of adolescents and rising teen suicide rates), and its role in spreading conspiracy theories such as Pizzagate and aiding groups such as flat-earthers. The film features interviews with former Google design ethicist and Center for Humane Technology co-founder Tristan Harris, his fellow Center for Humane Technology co-founder Aza Raskin, Asana co-founder and Facebook's like button co-creator Justin Rosenstein, Harvard University professor Shoshana Zuboff, former Pinterest president Tim Kendall, AI Now director of policy research Rashida Richardson, Yonder director of research Renee DiResta, Stanford University Addiction Medicine Fellowship program director Anna Lembke, and virtual reality pioneer Jaron Lanier. The interviews are cut together with dramatizations starring actors Skyler Gisondo, Kara Hayward, and Vincent Kartheiser, which tell the story of a teenager's social media addiction. RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-09-2020 Netflix: a remake of the 70s disaster movie The Poseidon Adventure. the original was pretty average, this was worse. Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poseidon_(film) Rating: 1.5/5 RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 30-09-2020 Presidential Debate: Trump fans got agressive, arguementative, obnoxious, personal attacks, sarcastic, rude Trump. Biden fans got someone who didnt back down to Trump and retaliated when neccessary. overall it was like a schoolyard brawl. RE: Currently Watching? - Music Head - 30-09-2020 ^^ watching now Chris Wallace has his hands full I don't know about the election but Trump retains his King of Rude title RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 30-09-2020 no winners from the debate except probably ratings. the biggest loser was America IMO. RE: Currently Watching? - Ruby - 30-09-2020 I've been amused all day by this journalist's comment - very pithy I thought! Courtesy of the Daily Maverick ... The debate would have gone better if Biden had simply arrived, slapped $750 on Trump's podium, said "next year's on me", and walked away. RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 04-10-2020 Saudi Arabia Uncovered (on netflix) doco showing the brutality of the Saudi Royal Family and their strict Islamic Sharia laws. the West (and the East) still give them military power and firepower despite their links to Al-Quaida/ISIS, why?, because of oil !!!! a real eye opener even for those who do have an inkling of world affairs. Doco was made in 2016 a few things have got better since then but its still a horrid place RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 07-10-2020 currently watching? nothing at the moment, just getting set up, set in and locked down for the VP debate in about two and a half hours. can almost guarentee Harris and Pence will be a bit more professional than what was seen in the Trump/Biden debate. this is where the election will be won and lost IMO. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ well that was boring... no fireworks, no surprise attacks on eachother, ended up switching off halfway through. from what i saw fans of each nominee will still remain faithful to them undecided voters will still be none the wiser as to who to vote for. RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 08-10-2020 ![]() thought i'd give this one a go. it just didnt go anywhere for me and at an extensively long two and a half hours was very drawn out... i did not like it. Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Woman_(2017_film) Rating: 1.5/5 RE: Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 09-10-2020 2009 remake of the 1980 horror classic. usually i avoid remakes until im lost for something to watch. aint a patch on the original. theres no suspense, no thrills but plenty of semi-clad/part naked females for some reason. nearly as bad as Wonder Woman. the Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friday_the_13th_(2009_film) Rating: 1.5/5 |
