ReMastered: who shot the Sheriff?
a Netflix documentary which centers around the 1976 assassination attempt on bob Marley.
gets into the murky political world of Jamaican politics and towards the end the interference by CIA on one side and KGB on the other.

my knowledge of Mr.Marley was pretty well non existent before watching this one.
all i knew was that he was a reggae dude who basically moved to the UK, got skin cancer and died as he was about to really hit the 'bigtime'.
had no idea about the man, his beliefs or his personal fight against injustice.
will be interesting to revisit his music now to see how my newly gained knowledge affects the way i hear his songs.
plenty of archival footage so this would probably be of interest fans also.

it follows rapper Snoop Dogg on his 2012 journey back to Jamaica to rediscover his heritage.
first two thirds are filled with drug use (THC), Willie Nelson would have been impressed!
gets more interesting in the final third when Snoop discusses his personal life,
his years selling drugs on the street as a juvenile and minor jail time as a juvenile.
his subsequent growing up, leaving the gangs and entering the rap world.
his friendship with Tupac and Death Row Records.
his marriage and children.
all up, an interesting look into the life of Snoop.
could be worth a look as it deals with reggae more than rap as he teams up with one of the original Wailers,
one of Marley's sons, visits Trench Town etc...

The effect that his disability and his lifestyle have upon his relationships is also a focal point of the film.[1] The title of the film is derived from Dury's 1977 7" single, "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll".

but also uplifting because of his continual positive attitude of 'winning against the odds'.
biopic covers his life up till the release of his highly controversial "spasticus autisticus" single from the mid 1980s.

Netflix series: rated-R.
a twenty-six episode, two season set of 50 minute horror/thriller stories
each written by a different so called "master of horror",
watching the third episode of season one at the moment.
stories are a bit weird and out there like American horror Story.
we'll see how long i can keep going with it before i get bored and move on...

Chef Gordon Ramsay goes to failing restaurants and shows them how to avoid bankruptcy,
the issues could be the resident chefs/cooks, the food, the venue, management or all of the above.
not for the fainthearted as Ramsay has a foul mouth and he uses it more than he doesnt.
for me, its just background noise,
something i dont have to think about too hard and can engage it without missing much.

LUCIFER season 5:
split into two release dates each with eight episodes in each part.
finished the first eight episodes last night.
after a slow start it all came together towards the end, now ive got to wait for the rest of the season to be released.
