Probably in my top 10 groups of all time. Follow up concept album to Act 1, which I think was better, probably because it was kept to a single
album, whereas the brothers Davies stretched this one into a double. Did a fine job for me but the critics hated it, and the sales reflected
that. A lowly #114 here and it doesn't even hit the UK chart. This was put out 6 months after Act 1 and continues the story of Flash, the
epitomy of evil and greed. Class warfare rules. Surprised at the low score from allmusic and what they say about the album. There is some
narrative between tracks but they are mostly under a minute so they didn't bother me, and seemed necessary to the story. A couple of bonus
tracks on my copy which were unnecessary. One a remake of one of the singles, and then an unreleased track from the sessions. Stop giving me
bonus stuff.

One of my absolute favourites - the whole band just shines on this. There is also something very unique about this album that I have never been able to put my finger on. The playing is superb, the recording is superb - that we know. But there is a 'something else is going on here' quality to this album. It has a unique atmospheric feel to it. Or maybe it is just a case of the right thing/people/instruments/material at the right time. When I put on this album I am in another world. Oxygene is another one that has the same effect. All analysts responses are welcome. And no, I am not paying you 200USD/hour to unscrew my head, thank you very much....................

L'apocalypse des animaux - Vangelis - some great themes on this - could be used as a soundtrack to so many things. Music that just kind of hangs in the air. The sort of thing that you play on one of those strange ethereal days when the outside world just does not exist.
