RE: I read the news today, oh boy! - Ruby - 04-02-2019 ^The world’s gone mad. Next thing you know you’ll be in trouble for calling a shovel a spade. RE: I read the news today, oh boy! - Jerome - 07-02-2019 Unfortunately this is now the level modern music has sunk to. Complete utter rubbish. Wonder what these 'artists' are going to do when their plastic world falls apart. https://uk.yahoo.com/news/lily-allen-dedicates-her-song-130000857.html (04-02-2019, 14:35)Ruby Wrote: ^The world’s gone mad. 100% Ruby. And they probably won't even know where the phrase originated anyway. Everyone is playing the race card simply because it's fashionable at present and it keeps you on top of the popularity charts. And the poor dumb sheeple just follow blindly and brainlessly on... RE: I read the news today, oh boy! - CRAZY-HORSE - 07-02-2019 ^^ until recently I worked with an Aboriginal who is a 'full blood' from up in the Kimberly region of West Australia, he can directly trace his heritage back 40,000 + years with rock carvings/paintings... he has total disdain for the city Aboriginals who don't know their culture (he calls them coconuts, ie: brown on the outside, white on the inside)...LOL, he has no time for political correctness or, as he calls them, "the white intellectuals who promote it for their own political means"... his people still practice traditional tribal punishments... and yes, he has seen all sides of Australian life, he served his country in Vietnam. served as a State Police Officer and worked for politicians dealing with Aboriginal Affairs... he is currently working on a documentary to get compensation for the Aboriginal population in the Kimberly who were exposed to the herbicide Agent Orange in the 1950s-70s by the AU/US Governments to both test its effects on humans, which we know had devastating side effects like Thalidomide... RE: I read the news today, oh boy! - CRAZY-HORSE - 09-02-2019 look at the size of this Great White Shark: https://www.msn.com/en-au/video/animals/shark-researchers-close-encounter-with-great-white/vi-BBTgqSd?ocid=spartanntp RE: I read the news today, oh boy! - Music Head - 09-02-2019 is that what you're calling it now? RE: I read the news today, oh boy! - Ruby - 12-02-2019 No electricity for five hours yesterday - about to go down again. https://www.dailymaverick.co.za/article/2019-02-12-dark-days-are-here-again-as-eskom-buckles-anger-rises-and-conspiracy-theories-abound/ RE: I read the news today, oh boy! - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-02-2019 ^^ one year its the water threat the next its electricity Ruby...what next? RE: I read the news today, oh boy! - Ruby - 13-02-2019 ^Really not good for the already stretched economy - crazy days!! Another 5 hours yesterday and 4,5 already today with more to come. Oh well, at this rate the last person to leave won't have to remember to turn off the lights! Lol! We're all a lot more conscious of our water use since those restrictions which is a good thing although it was difficult at the time and I really hope we don't go back there again! Generally speaking we humans waste far too many resources and I think that we need to learn how to live differently - sooner rather than later. Even New Zealand, which appears to run like clockwork most of the time is currently experiencing a water shortage - friends of mine there are living with restrictions. RE: I read the news today, oh boy! - CRAZY-HORSE - 14-02-2019 I grew up learning about this eccentric Aussie in school, RIP Prince Leonard! https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/prince-leonard-who-seceded-from-australia-to-form-micro-nation-hutt-river-dies-aged-93/ar-BBTyIvW?ocid=spartanntp RE: I read the news today, oh boy! - CRAZY-HORSE - 19-02-2019 this guy was lucky not to be included in my "shark attack" thread.. I refer to him as "king of the dickheads!" https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/terrifying-moment-monster-five-metre-great-white-shark-lunges-out-of-the-water-at-a-photographer-in-an-ocean-cage-off-australias-south-coast/ar-BBTLNGw?ocid=spartanntp |
