HFH ,mentioned, above is Habitat for Humanity. We're an international Board so thought I'd back-fill with this: http://www.habitat.org/ They are also working in a Himalayan nation which I find Nepal-ing (or is it appalling? I forget...)

Loooking frequently for other folks to do your intellectual heavy lifting? Maybe that's why so many fall into the trap of following Fox News--they provide easily-digestible answers that reinforce prevous prejudices. The last thing they want are folks who think for themselves.

This kind of casual slander is disturbing. Do you have facts/statistics to back up this assertion? If not try to get some from your pastor/city councilman because it is a legit question. Otherwise your kvetching is easily dismissed as anecdotal pseudo-evidence. I hope this was an easy enough, not-personal-enough, request to make.
BTW that "some of my best friends are...X" defense went away 50 years ago...Just so you know.
