What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 25-06-2012 Pickwick has suckered me in a couple of times with el-cheapo albums LOL What Are You Listening To? - Paul188 - 25-06-2012 I saw a YouTube video that ... What do you think the way you song? I liked!!! What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 28-06-2012 from my library (vinyl) ![]() Debut album. I can handle this once I get past the fact that they market it as country. I get hung up about that. I must just listen. Some decent pop music with a slight tinge of country attached here. Nothing great and one bomb. Five tracks from this ten song set made the country chart, with All Roads Lead To You making #1, and the album at #35. Steve's voice reminds me of Glen Campbell. Just wish any of his songs were as good. He's had 18 albums, 50 charting singles with 10 #1's, so he has some fans out there. I see where Wariner was made a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1996. An insult to that institution as far as I'm concerned. Anyway, the album is ok. I LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - She Never Meant A Thing To Me Best Track - Don't It Break Your Heart 1) Your Memory ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNoQ2vcO8GM 2) Don't Plan On Sleepin' Tonight ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7nWLG1Nbzw 3) We'll Never Know ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqIHixu7fXw 4) She Never Meant A Thing To me * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ep9AqLAtWI 5) Well, Hello Again ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awz-_p83Ta0 6) Don't It Break Your Heart ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdMgfBPve80 - Glen Campbell coulda mastered this 7) Kansas City Lights ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5Ye4EPLuaY 8) All Roads Lead To You ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SF7WTzyPKb0 9) By Now ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMMqfkdk6sI - very good presentation of the song to start this clip 10) Daybreak ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WERTQAqzJg 3's - 0 2's - 9 1's - 1 Grade - 1.9 allmusic - 2.6  What Are You Listening To? - perrier - 29-06-2012 I'm listening to Madalena Alberto's album 'Foreign Skecthes' on Spotify! http://open.spotify.com/album/6PfrhAgCLRBcSU8Z9S2d8Y What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 11-07-2012 from my library (vinyl) ![]() Did Steve's debut a couple of weeks ago. This is his fourth and it comes out a little better. More of a country flavor than the first. Two love track scores with I Let A Keeper Get away and The Heartland. There were two #1 country singles, Life's Highway and You Can Dream Of Me, and a #4 single with Starting Over Again, the only track I don't care for. The album reached #22, an improvement over the performance of the debut. Surprised to see Chet Atkins showing up on Natural History. Though Steve was never a consistent chart topper, he did his share of contributing to that 80's country sound, when pop made it's permanent infiltration to what was the traditional country sound. Not much of that here, but that's where Steve ended up. I LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Starting Over Again Best Track - The Heartland 1) Life's Highway ** video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iF4h42P9UyE 2) Back Up Grinnin' Again ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvbhMwQQHmA 3) I Let A Keeper Get Away *** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5tOVZ4hUx8 4) She's Crazy For Leaving ** - Rodney Crowell song 5) In Love And Out Of Danger ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFqClSB3kJ4 6) She's Leaving Me All Over Town ** 7) Natural History ** 8) You Can Dream Of Me ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4irEv36Wfg 9) Starting Over Again * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtGtUfaSE0A 10) The Heartland *** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7Aimc4OH4Y 3's - 2 2's - 7 1's - 1 Grade - 2.1 allmusic - 2.0 What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-07-2012 your two best tracks aint too bad MH....,better than your favourite on the previous one you did What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-07-2012 ![]() JOHN WILLIAMSON "hillbilly road" cd,2008. JW, an Aussie storyteller, telling stories of 'country living' on this his umpteenth album of country/folky sounds... been around since the late 1960s and still going strong as a live performer and respectable albums to his credit. this one is reasonably good as are most of his records, but obviously with age comes a decline with all artists... for the most part very personal, self analytically style songs, but ok, nonetheless, acouple of loves,a couple of loathes, with the remainder being ok. a long way from his best works of the 1970s and early 1980s but i like 'em. bugger!...no link for my favourite track or most of them for that matter!!!! I LIKE THIS ALBUM worst track: catch a virgin best track: tomorrow's worries tracks: 1. flowers on the concrete ** 2. drink a little love ** 3. dark irish eyes * 4. hillbilly road ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhi8O6fDbiI video 5. catch a virgin * 6. cydi ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F556bhhp1BU&feature=relmfu live 7. pmarra knatcha(home in the bush) ** 8. australia is another word for free ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBRQgeIosDo live 9. better than a picture ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFPTTCkEb4M video 10.rivers,wood and wire *** 11.beach of love ** 12.tomorrow's worries *** 13.the joy is in the journey ** 3s=2 2s=9 1s=2 rating: 2.0 What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 12-07-2012 ^^ gave Hillbilly Road a shot it was ok dude has some weird accent recall hearing one like it about a year ago What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 17-07-2012 ![]() GRAHAM NASH "songs for beginners" cd,1971 was tossing up whether to put this in 'classic rock' thread or this 'folk' one...obviously decided on the latter because its here... heard this one numerous times over the decades from my parents scratched vinyl collection so i was pleased to find this on cd yesterday and put it straight to the top of my 'to listen to' pile of cds. Graham's debut solo set,but his career goes back a lot further than 1971...he was a founding member of British pop group The Hollies way back in 1962-63ish...then as a part of Crosby,Stills & Nash at the end of the 1960s... absolutely nothing amiss with this one IMO,great lyrics,vocals,mucis,harmonies,production...just simply a great, great album...which starts off with the incredibly brilliant "military madness" and rarely lets up through the entire eleven tracks its amazing that over the period 1970-71 we had the brilliant CSN&Y album "deja vu",NY's "after the goldrush" and "harvest",this one and Stephen Stills debut set...that is five absolute masterpieces by these guys, showing just how great a talent they all were in that period either together or apart... to add to this, when i saw CSN live earlier this year Graham Nash was the best vocalist of the three that night. I LOVE THIS ALBUM worst track: we can change the world best track: military madness tracks: 1. military madness *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czUx2gvjdJk audio 2. better days ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFI8X7FwMac audio 3. wounded bird ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXeIdIcNk2U audio 4. i used to be a king *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DY_GYJi7RA audio 5. be yourself *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWrtQOgOlHY audio 6. simple man *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdWvfvedhpg&feature=related live 7. man in the mirror *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyfdH6EzbBo audio 8. there's only one *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WV9VZ37K9Ks audio 9.sleep song ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njNiF71PHAk&feature=related live 10.chicago *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4BJpC-esA8 audio 11.we can change the world ** sorry, no link for the final track on youtube!!!! 3s=7 2s=4 1s=0 rating: 2.6 What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 17-07-2012 ^^ I have this one nice score by you Nash was always the forgotten one |
