Not my cover but I guess this is the paperback. Never read this guy before and not sure where I picked it up. Library sale no doubt. Sort of reminds me of Vonneguts work. Life book with no particular plot. A lot of humor. Middle aged couple get married and the woman is transplanted from NYC to country life. She is paranoid and attempts to analyze everyones behavior, usually being off base. Pretty enjoyable quick read. Wouldn't mind exploring the guys other works, at a discount price of course. Shows quite a few by him, most recent being 2008.

Just superb. A Fathers Day gift from my daughter. She said she tired of getting me Amazon gift certificates. I feel a lean x-mas coming on. But this book was a fine replacement. True story of Louie Zamperini. Had never heard of him. Went off to serve his country at the onset of WWII. Dropped some bombs on the Japs. Plane went down over the Pacific. He and two other survivors floated along for about six weeks beofre washing up on the wrong shore. Became a Japanese prisoner for about two years. Horrendous conditions as you might expect. What he endured brings to light the inhumanity of mankind. Reached the lowest point a man can survive. After the war, how he came back from those depths of despair will chill you. Well, it did me anyway.
