Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 03-08-2016 ![]() LONDON HAS FALLEN 2015 movie as I recall... stars Gerard Buttler and Morgan Freeman(as the US VP) London is hit by a wave of terrorist attacks... London is decimated to the point of no communication... US Pres is evacuated, his helicopter is blown out o the sky, he and his Secret Service guard have to survive the terror and weave their way in and around the city to the nominated evac point... pretty much a full on action movie, lots of noise, explosions, gun fights etc along the way with Morgan Freeman refusing to negotiate with the terrorists... a thrill a minute ride in this blockbuster... scary thing is, this could actually happen if planned well by ISIS or other affiliated groups! rating: 3/5 Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 03-08-2016 ![]() "FOREVER: the complete series" 22 40 minute episodes in this series.... just finished watching the final episode... not a bad series, would have dragged on too much had it gone on any longer... series synopsis: What would you do if you had all the time in the world? This new otherworldly drama from Matt Miller (Chuck), Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes) and Jennifer Gwartz (Veronica Mars) follows Dr. Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd - Fantastic Four, Ringer), a star New York City medical examiner, on his journey to answer that looming question. Henry has a vested interest in studying the dead: He is immortal, and only his best friend and confidant, Abe (Emmy® winner Judd Hirsch - Taxi), full of life at age 75, knows Henry's secret. Henry hasn't aged at all since the clock stopped 200 years ago, but he's managed to be discreet without anyone finding out his affliction. That task becomes increasingly difficult when he meets NYPD detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza - Law & Order), who is fascinated by Henry after learning he was the sole survivor of a horrific train crash -- and his knowledge proves extremely helpful to her in solving crimes. my overall rating for it: 3/5 Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 13-08-2016 ![]() HATFIELDS & McCOYS three 1.5hr episodes in this Costner miniseries... based on the actual feud between the two families dating back to the 1880's... Kevin Costner has to be one of the most underrated and underappreciated actors/ producers/directors but he's up there with Clint Eastwood IMO. heres the synopsis courtesy of Amazon: [h=3]Product Description[/h] Bonded by their oath to the same flag, two confederate soldiers, âDevilâ Anse Hatfield (Kevin Costner) and Randall McCoy (Bill Paxton), return home seeking peace after tireless months of battle. Their expectations are quickly shattered when a murder based on misunderstandings and an illicit love affair trigger warfare between former comrades and their clans. This historic feud teeters on the brink of an all out civil war as friends and neighbors join opposing sides in a rivalry that would ultimately shape American History. [h=3]Amazon.com[/h] The legendary 19th-century battle between two West Virginia clans that came to define the term feud gets a lengthy and frequently dramatic retelling in Hatfields & McCoys, a six-hour miniseries driven by leads Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton as the warring family patriarchs. Both actors lend considerable gravitas to the sprawling story, which begins with Costner's Devil Anse Hatfield going AWOL during the Civil War, setting in motion a growing animosity with former friend Randolph McCoy (Paxton) that blossoms into full-blown violence over a property dispute between the families. Bloodshed begets bloodshed, due in part to a series of miscommunications, long-simmering grievances, and acts of outright foolishness, several of which are the work of hot-blooded Hatfield relative Jim Vance (Tom Berenger). What emerges from the final work is a portrait of generational murder as a sort of Biblical virus, with the sins of the fathers wreaking untold havoc on their children, including a pair of young Hatfield-McCoy lovers (Lindsay Pulsipher and Matt Barr) whose romance considerably exacerbates tensions. The latter subplot is probably the sole weak element in the miniseries, detracting from the tragic forward momentum of the familial conflict and solid turns by all concerned, including Powers Boothe as Costner's sage older brother and Jena Malone and the always-welcome Mare Winningham as women on the McCoy side. A major ratings hit and multiple Emmy nominee for The History Channel, which made its dramatic project debut with the miniseries, Hatfields & McCoys is a compelling historical drama for both Western fans and non-genre followers alike. The DVD includes a modest, electronic press kit-style making-of featurette as well as a music video for the song "I Know These Hills," sung by Costner and his band, Modern West. heres the Wiki page for the historical feud if youre interested: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hatfield%E2%80%93McCoy_feud rating for the miniseries from me: 4/5 Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 31-08-2016 VP nominee Pence on CBS.... Typical politician, refuses to buckle ro what the interviewer wanted... I like him, I'd vote for him... And good political move Trump going to Mexico to meet with their leader, He's obviously trying to show he can deal with Leaders, Could be just the strategy he needs to become Pres. Currently Watching? - Oceansoul - 06-09-2016 I'm about to watch Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Hearing of Gene Wilder's passing has inspired me to watch some of my favorite movies of his. RIP Gene Wilder Currently Watching? - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-09-2016 ![]() THE H8FUL EIGHT: Tarantino movie from 2015 just released on dvd/bluray... stars Kurt Russell, Samuel J Jackson, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Walton Goggins. set shortly after the US Civil War in Wyoming.... bounty hunters taking fugitives to collect their rewards... end up in a Haberdashery store to sit out an impending blizzard... a black comedy with some graphic violence... not bad, I say not bad, but typical Tarantino (very weird) with story going forewards and backwards... my rating: 2.5/5 Amazon synopsis: The Hateful 8 is set 6 or 8 or 12 years after the Civil War in wintery Wyoming, and a blizzard is coming. Bounty Hunter John Ruth is trying to get his bounty, Ms. Daisy Domergue (Dah-mer-goo), to the town of Red Rock where sheâs scheduled to be brought to justice. Along the way he and his wagon driver Olie pick up two strangers; another bounty hunter and former union soldier, Major Marquis Warren, and a former southern renegade who claims to be the new mayor of Red Rock, Chris Mannix. The impending storm has forced them to stop at Minnieâs Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. When they arrive at Minnieâs, they are not greeted by the proprietor but by four strangers. As the storm takes over the mountainside cabin our eight travelers come to learn they may not make it to Red Rock after all⦠Currently Watching? - Oceansoul - 01-10-2016 Watching V For Vendetta for the first time.
