RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 03-11-2019 ^^ im a fan of Lana Del Rey but have to be in the mood to listen to her, likewise Jack White that track is from her Ultraviolence album (my least favourite of hers IMO) never knew it was released as a single?? RE: What Are You Listening To? - Dissily Mordentroge - 03-11-2019 (03-11-2019, 10:45)CRAZY-HORSE Wrote: ^^ “Being in the mood” is a hard one to explain. There are some classical music works I’m only in the mood to listen to once a year at most. Mostly because they’re emotionally draining in the extreme. 'Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde’ (The Song of the Earth) is one. The best performance (IMO) is an old mono one with Kathleen Ferrier as soprano. The final song is essentially someone sing about dying. When she recorded it she was dying of cancer. the entire orchestra and conductor knew and kept breaking up during the recording. Ferrier at one stage turned to the orchestra and said. “Hey, who's dying around here, you or me?” Then there are songs that were effectively the soundtrack to a love affair, later gone wrong. Some of those I can’t listen to decades after, one never. Enough already, I’m getting maudlin. RE: What Are You Listening To? - Dissily Mordentroge - 05-11-2019 This is a test post (I may have posted this clip previously) I’ve had a long struggle with the forum’s software ( or maybe the software on all my Macs?) that’s blocked me logging in over and over again. Fingers crossed this works. The moderators have been endlessly patient and helpful trying to solve this for me - they have my thanks. I only wish we knew why it happend in the first place in case someone else gets hit with the same problem. I suspect you should be very afraid if you try to log on only to encounter a long page of what appears to be Linux code. RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 14-11-2019 HOLE "ask for it" - ep cd, 1995 six track 'ep' five live, one studio recording a couple of covers love the opening track, the only studio track the other five have all the energy of 1970s punk but I don't like them I DO NOT LIKE THIS 'ep' favourite: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 18-11-2019 LANA DEL REY "ultraviolence" cd, 2014 her third of six, I own five love-hate relationship with her music and ive really got to be "in the mood" to listen to her least likeable album of hers but I still like it lead off single: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 30-12-2019 GREEN DAY "insomniac" cd 1995 fourth album of twelve according to my catalogue I own ten either way, I love these guys because theyre as close as you can get to real punk no emo BS here, intelligent lyrics mostly build around a social conscience great band great album favourite track: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 01-01-2020 ![]() TONI CHILDS "house of hope" cd, 1991 American singer second album of six, only one I own had a dozen or so chart hits in Australia and New Zealand very little chart action anywhere else sings a lot about social injustice. abuse. domestic violence etc sort of like Tracy Chapman only full band as opposed to acoustic love her voice, its strong yet frail, she expresses the feel of the songs vocally, you can feel the pain, sorrow, happiness etc as she sings a very good album favourite: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 02-01-2020 CRASH TEST DUMMIES "God shuffled his feet" cd, 1993 Canadian alt-folk band second album of nine I own the first two, didn't go back for one reason or another love the singers bass-baritone vocal, takes some getting used to initially though prefer the debut album but this one is still pretty good I LIKE THIS ALBUM the worldwide mega hit: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 08-01-2020 LANA DEL REY "lust for life" cd 2017 fifth album. sixteen tracks. reached #1 or top10 everywhere that counts. several featured artists on here. has hr usual dreamy, laid back sounds, youll either like or dislike it I guess. two songs I don't like are the ones featuring rapper A$AP Rocky, the others are cool, love the one with Stevie Nicks. I LIKE THIS ALBUM favourite: RE: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-01-2020 ELVIS COSTELLO & THE ATTRACTIONS "armed forces" cd, 1979 their third. produced by Nick Lowe. was great to pull this one out and give it a whirl in the car. big hit, Olivers Army, that's the overall album sound also. love just about every track on here, yet, the hit isn't the best track on here, nor is it his best album IMO. I LOVE THIS ALBUM something different off the album this time: |
