my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 22-10-2013 ELVIS PRESLEY "elvis sings...." ep 1979 one of many "ep's" they released here over the first couple of years after his passing... this one contains four tracks... two from 1964 in "kiss me quick" and "suspicion" one from 1959 in "i want you with me" and one from 1970 with "sentimental me" ep failed to chart here "kiss me quick" ** "suspicion" ** "sentimental me" ** "i want you with me" *** my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-10-2013 NAKED EYES "always sonething there to remind me" b/w "pit stop" 1982 UK synth pop group,in similar style to Pet Shop Boys... this "a" side is a cover of thd classic... "b" side is a piece of early 1980s synth crap... single reached a respectable #7 here and rightfully so... "always something there to remind me" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zMAe31FFHbo vevo video "pit stop" * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNP1HTisZHs audio my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-10-2013 MADNESS "sweetest girl" b/w "jennie" 1986 a lovely love song from The Nutty Boys...not their best but reasonably good... "b" side is a typically rubbish Madness "b" side single failed to chart here... "sweetest girl" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DduE7ZtxPrs vevo video "jennie" * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZNVTLL_9IM audio my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-10-2013 CLIFF RICHARD "i just dont have the heart" b/w "wide open space" 1989 after thirty one years of hit making in the UK, Sir Cliff hired the then "in thing" producers Stock,Aitken & Waterman to porduce this hit... both sides are useless excuses to be called songs IMO...i dont like them, and i dont like Cliff Richard... single failed to chart here but did make the top10 on the UK charts... "i just dont have the heart" * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzoStKJ8oEM video "wide open space" * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaGqLM-FIWg audio my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-10-2013 WINGS "let 'em in" b/w "beware my love" 1976 "a" side is a light jaunty simplistic McCartney track...gotta admit this one is bloody catchy!, great stuff IMO... "b" side is a more rock laden track and also off the "speed of sound" album... not sure why, but this one only reached #65 here, strange indeed?! "let em in" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p4drWtJ0Ug video "beware my love" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LKtfP3ubaM audio my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 23-10-2013 THE POLICE "walking on the moon" b/w "visions of the night" 1979 as ive posted here in theis thread previously...ive gone off The Police over the last decade or so... i just find their songs too repeatative, and this is no exception to that.... "b" side is no better... single peaked at #9 here... "walking on the moon" * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZR9Y_inRNsM video "visions of the night" * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKrbhuGK8B4 audio my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-10-2013 BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN "born in the usa" b/w "shut out the light" 1984 this was the first thing by The Boss i bought, followed by the album of the same name...i fell in love with all things Springsteen after that! i love the "a" side, it encompasses everything The Boss stands for both lyrically and musically IMO... "b" side is an acoustic track, another Boss classic IMO, i just cant understand why this song was never put on an album, would have fitted well on Nebraska! single peaked at #2 here... "born in the usa" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPhWR4d3FJQ vevo video "shut out the light" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZUnWpf8qLg audio my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-10-2013 SHAKIN' STEVENS "blue christmas-ep" 1982 a four track 'ep' from Shaky.... 'ep' contains three covers, the title track which is pretty good, another Elvis cover in "lawdy miss clawdy",also good and a cover of "que sera sera", which only just makes the pass mark for me...the fourth track is a self composition from memory entitled "josephine" single wasnt released here and this is a UK import copy, this single peaked at #1 at christmas in that year in the UK... "blue christmas" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0i1Q-P6NnE video "lawdy miss clawdy(live)" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEVPpFs3mWY live "josephine" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KAh1T1BMJs audio "que sera sera(live)" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4PGh0-stg0 live my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-10-2013 THE KINKS "do it again" b/w "guilty" 1984 "a" side is classic Kinks IMO, has all the hallmarks of their classic rock sound, this is as good as any of their early hits but sadly forgotten by most... "b" side is a rock track also...this one just sounds like a million other bands do, no Kinks sound here, Dave Davies takes on lead vocals on this one... back to the "a" side, this is the first time i have seen the video for this one...i love it!,watching Ray as a 'one man band' guy in the London underground is so cool! single failed to chart here but should have been a pretty big hit for them IMO "do it again" *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfGwjHg9gyU vevo video "guilty" * http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHrpTlyDuFo audio my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-10-2013 THE FAT BOYS featuring: CHUBBY CHECKER "the twist" b/w "the twist(minimal vocal)" 1985 i have no idea who the Fat Boys were, but i sure know who Chubby is... "a" side is simply an updated version of Checker's classic song... "b" side is mainly instrumental, but its okay also,if only for the fact that i love the tune of that song anyway... single made it to #23 here, and if nothing else it intruduced a new generation of teens to "the twist" "the twist" ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNT-sc1ymEM video "the twist(minimal vocal)" ** no link available |
