my "singles" collection - CRAZY-HORSE - 21-10-2013

FERRY AID "let it be" b/w "let it be(gospel jam mix)" 1987

collaboration Band Aid type single to raise money for a ferry disaster in europe that cost the lives of 193 people...
at the forefront of this was Paul McCartney...which gave him another UK #1 hit...
"a" side is very average only making the pass grade by a whisker, "b' side is called a "gospel jam mix"...i dont hear much gospel happening here,
it would have been good to hear this track done with a gospel groove happening!
single only reached #28 here...

POLICE "de do do do,de da da da" b/w "a sermon" 1980

seriously, this "a' side has to have the most stupid title of any song ever released...
i used to be a big fan of these guys but my interest has waned over the last few years...
i dont like it, nor do i like the "b' side...
single reached #6 here back in the day

TRACIE "the house that jack built" b/w "dr.love" 1983

this is the third single of Tracie aka Tracie Young i have already posted in this thread...
sone nice "white girl" blue eyed pop happening here on this "A' side...
"b" side was written by Paul Weller, its a piece of crap, even by his standards IMO...
single wasnt released here, i got this on import from the UK

ROD STEWART "do ya think im sexy?" b/w "dirty weekend" 1978

love the "a" side here...Rod as his raunchiest, rockin best IMO...
both side were taken from his very goos "blondes have more fun" album...
i own the album on cassette...
single reached #1 on the charts here...like it did just about everywhere else on planet earth!

CRAIG McLAUCHLAN & CHECK 1-2 "mona" b/w "i dont mind" 1990

a side is a cover of the old song from the early 1960s...
i used to like this version but not now!
"b' side is no better...proving that soap-opera stars should stick to acting and not attempt to change career...
single made it to #3 here

ROD STEWART "another heartache" b/w "youre in my heart(live)" 1986

typical late nineteen eighties pop with horrible synth beats....
as you can guess, i dont like the "A' side..
now the "b' side is another matter, a live version of a Rockin' rod classic...
single failed to chart here

T REX "metal guru" b/w "lady" & "thunder wing" 1972

i was never a huge fan of Bolan, but i like this "a' side, love "ride a white swan", that one is still in the boxes somewhere...
"b" two tracks on the "b' side, theyre more subdued than the usual T Rex sound...i like one and dislike the other one...
single made it to #10 here back in the day

DON McLEAN "castles in the air" b/w "crazy eyes" 1981

i love this "a" side from McLean, "b side comes close to a love rating...
"b" side sort of has a swing feel to it...
single just missed out on a top10 peak here, charting at #11

MEATLOAF "im gonna love her for both of us" b/w "everything is permitted" 1981

two greeat songs from his "deadringer" album, which incidently, i think is a better album than "bat out of hell"
so i guess thats what you'd call...."enough said!"
single reached a poor #92 here
