What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 08-06-2012 Jerome Wrote:I absolutely hate this song. Not because it isn't any good, but here in Ireland they play this 30 times a day (not kidding either) over the Xmas period. Everytime it comes on I turn the radio off. Or put on a CD. i hate the Pogues with a passion...have a double cd best of set, cant recall more than a couple of tracks i like What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 10-06-2012 ![]() HANK WILLIAMS III "long gone, daddy" cd, 2012. i love Hank Snr, dislike Hank Jnr, and so far, am a big fan of Hank III(hank Snr's grandson)....probably like him as he sounds just like his Granddaddy, but it is not a forced sound by the sounds of him... thanks to Music Head's son-in-law Major Tim who reccomended we play one of his albums last year whilst in Florida...we did, and i loved it enough to buy it,that one was "lovesick, broke & driftin". so earlier this year i got his new one, this one!, i was a bit hesitant because its primarily a covers album, but it passes the mark by a long shot because he has stuck to the "roots of country" with both the song selection and his interpretation of those songs, this one would surely have got a love rating bar it containing a version of a Johnny Cash song (wreck of the old '97), which incidently, im not a fan of Johnny's version neither...that song just does nothing for me at all!. a couple of very good covers of Hank Snr tracks also on here, hell, if i didnt know better i'd have sworn it was Hank Snr, nevertheless, another very good album by Hank III IMO. I LIKE THIS ALBUM worst track: wreck of the old '97 best track: what they want me to be tracks: 1. long gone daddy *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTAOgMqNYuE&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list=PLE1D7051E1703EB9F audio 2. sun comes up ** 3. the bottle let me down ** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RL6KAfu69rU audio 4. wreck of the old '97 * 5. neath a cold grey tomb of stone ** 6. the wind blew cold ** 7. good hearted woman *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OT4wWIDPxNU live 8. this aint montgomery ** 9. what they want me to be *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zR3VTaueXkE audio 10.if the shoe fits *** http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnYC6aF2JaU live 3s=4 2s=5 1s=1 rating: 2.3 What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 10-06-2012 ^^ your favorite - liked the lyrics but not the music What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 12-06-2012 from my library (vinyl) ![]() Up there with his best for me. Jerry Lee's umpteenth album. Hard to believe he's still kickin'. Probably just barely, as the last time I saw him was on Don Imus's show a few years ago, and the killer looked rough. Voice was gone and the banging of them keys wasn't the same. Middle Age Crazy, a #4 country hit, made this album and felt like it was written just for Jerry. Follow up single was Come On In, which made #10 country. The album made it to #21 country. Although Jerry Lee is a legend, he never had a #1 album. Inducted into the r&r hall of fame in 1986, I always considered him country. Not sure where he felt more at home. Of course those rock years were in the late 50's and that genre was quite different then. For me Jerry Lee was one of the greatest piano players ever, and the killer rocks on at the age of 76. I LOVE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Tennessee Saturday Night Best Track - Middle Age Crazy Today he traded his big '98 Oldsmobile He got a heck of a deal on a new Porsche car He ain't wearing his usual gray business suit He's got jeans and high boots with an embroidered star And today he's forty years old, going on twenty Don't look for the gray in his hair 'cause he ain't got any He's got a young thing beside him that just melts in his hand He's middle aged crazy, trying to prove he still can He's gotta a woman he's loved for a long, long time at home Ah, but the thrill is all gone when they cut down the lights They've got a business that they spent a while coming by Been a long uphill climb but now the profits are high But today he's forty years old, going on twenty And he hears of sordid affairs and he ain't had any And the young thing beside him, you know she understands That he's middle aged crazy, trying to prove he still can 1) Middle Age Crazy *** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sj0o0QO2riY 2) Let's Say Goodbye Like We Said Hello *** 3) Who's Sorry Now ** 4) Jealous Heart ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltqbK8202B8 5) Georgia On My Mind ** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dICJ8I3yR68 6) Come On In ** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3P2ACDU3jE 7) As Long As I Live ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ag2gtYFkjuc 8) (You'd Think By Now) I'd Be Over You *** 9) Country Memories *** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OnWGEBwxRY 10) What's So Good About Goodbye *** 11) Tennessee Saturday Night * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Yk57VJBZOM 3's - 5 2's - 5 1's - 1 Grade - 2.4 allmusic - 2.0 What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-06-2012 i know a couple of these tracks...your favourite included, and i love that one also mate, i read somwhere recently that there is a multi disc career spanning set of Jerry Lee about to be released in the UK What Are You Listening To? - shanyang - 14-06-2012 i am listing David Guetta and Akon's ![]() removal of links promoting other sites What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 14-06-2012 last time i heard DG and Akon they were not "country/folk" artists??!!!!
