What Are You Reading ? - Music Head - 24-05-2011 Oh dear! Annual public library sale is this week, Wed-Sat Came back from visiting my sister in Fl. with around 20 books from her deceased hubbys collection. Have made it though 4 of them. Now I have to go to this damn library sale, where no telling how many I'll pick up. So much knowledge, so little time. What Are You Reading ? - jannypana - 27-05-2011 I'm read The House of Leaves at the moment. It's pretty good. link removed What Are You Reading ? - GlassxAngel - 28-05-2011 I'm kind of a bookaholic, so I'm reading two books at once. (: One of Terry Pratchett's classic, called Gaurds! Gaurds! and one by Stephen King, called Under The Dome. Both are pretty good so far, and Stephen King, as expected, already delivers violent death and gore with in the very first chapter. I'm not all that into horror, but he's so good at making his reader's skin crawl and chilling them to the bone. He knows how to sell a story alright lol What Are You Reading ? - CRAZY-HORSE - 28-05-2011 Stephen King is my favourite writer...the same cant be said for most of the movies they make from his books though What Are You Reading ? - Music Head - 04-06-2011 Not my cover but I guess the words are the same. One of my favorite historical fiction writers along with Leon Uris. This novel is about the founding of Israel up through the Six-Day War in 1967. A lot of name dropping of former PM's that were in other positions at the time. Written from an Israeli point of view but not really a noticeable Arab bias. Historical events with fictional characters thrown in. War, politics, love, sex. All that good stuff. Grade - B next up - Second Act by Joan Collins What Are You Reading ? - Music Head - 11-06-2011 ![]() Damn! what a bitch. Didn't even know she was a brit. More of a Hollywood tell all gossip book than a bio. Then again this is her second bio, so she had to come up with something. Married five times now so she's been around the block. Didn't know she had been in that many movies, mostly B-movies, or maybe C. What made her of course was the long running Dynasty. Never was a regular viewer of that trash. The old bag is still kicking at around 75. No use for her but it was a pretty good read. Grade - B next up - Berlin Game by Len Deighton What Are You Reading ? - Jerome - 16-06-2011 Try Michael Caine's autobiography Elephant to Hollywood - a masterpiece and bloody funny too! What Are You Reading ? - mainekick - 17-06-2011 I am reading a few Tolstoy books. link removed What Are You Reading ? - Tiggi - 18-06-2011 ![]() Xmas present from Miss Tiggi. This book comes courtesy of Mojo magazine, and is a collection of essays and articles attempting to reach the heart of the story of Punk Rock on both sides of the pond. Very good so far... What Are You Reading ? - Music Head - 20-06-2011 This one didn't do much for me. Spy books usually don't. Wasn't familiar with this author. Story was ok I guess, and I did guess who the double-agent was early on. Sort of anti-climatic from that point. Everything confirmed my suspicions. Any type of action book I find hard to get in to, but I try. Grade - D next up - Thomas Jefferson: Passionate Pilgrim by Alf J. Mapp, Jr. |
