What Did You Buy? - The Freewheelin' euan - 18-07-2011

few vinyl finds from my local record shop the other day.(well i say local its 30 miles away)

[The Beatles revolver]
£7 seventess pressing. in great condition and still sounds great its obvious its either had a very good owner or its been siting snugly away for 37 years Smile.

[Keith Richards Talk Is Chep]
£3 quid in good condition.

[Lou Reed New York]
£4 good condition aswell Smile.

(at the moment i have been saving my pennies for the import realises of The Beatles vinyls on amazon on the 21st of sept. and also the deluxe editions of the Pink Floyd albums which i think come out in november)

I love vinyl, and have a few hundred vinyl albums, but haven't bought any in years. I think the prices for new vinyl are a bloody cheek, and don't trust my costly cartridge with second hand stuff.

Shame really...

i agree about the cost of new vinyl albums...bloody outragous prices, so i only buy new vinyl if i think its worth it, then store it away unopned ie: i still buy all Weller's 7",10",12" singles and vinyl lp's and limited edition deluxe versions on cd to keep, and buy the standard cd versions to play.
others ive bought have been 30th anniversary of Pink Floyd's DSOTM, and Gorilla's "plastic beach" with a limited print run of a different coloured cover to the standard cd/lp versions.

I was reading the vinyl part Tiggi...............I used to collect collectable vinyl and learnt quite a bit about cleaning up second hand vinyl and also about what would and would not clean................perhaps we should have a chat so that you can invest in some good second hand vinyl that will not ruin a good hi-fi cartridge ?:wink:Cool
