Morton Feldman (one of only five or six people I could truly call a "musical genius")
Julius Eastman (very obscure, but absolutely amazing)
Terry Reily ("In C" ftw
Arvo Part (especially late period)
Steve Reich (Overrated, but still very very good)
I like some of that real old classical like the Nine Symphonies and stuff, but it's the modern stuff that really gets me

Out of these five I don't know two - Eastman and Reily, - and I thought I know contemporary classical music quite well! I see they are both associated with minimalism (which I enjoy), so I guess are worth checking... Thanks for mentioning them in your list!
