I'm not sure gryphon. There's a version on amazon that's just got ommadawn parts 1 and 2 and another that has both versions (specifically labelling them as 2010 and 1975) as well as extra tracks - both are about £7 to download.
but there's a third version that is only £2 to download and naturally I got that one. It has the extra tracks (dulci jubilo, first excursion, algiers and portsmouth) and parts one and two of ommadawn.
that's the one I got so I think I've got the original 1975 version, just with extra tracks.
I've also got 'the essential mike oldfield' on cd and the section from ommadawn sounds identical to the one i've downloaded so it must be the original version.

We're always talking about what we like here. The question is, what have you liked well enough to actually purchase? Would like to start keeping track of that here. If you would start logging your album purchases it would be appreciated. This will be for albums only, no songs, and it will be whether hard copy or downloads. I must confess I don't buy near as much as I used to. Reasons are 1) I am retired and have become cheap, 2) there is so much available to listen to online and 3) I already own more music than anyone could listen to. I do go on occasional buying sprees and I buy album downloads when they are on sale. I will log my most recent purchase after this post and will do so in the future. Feel free to do the same.
