watched an old movie from my dvd collection today....
Clint Eastwood's "unforgiven"....
a four time Acadamy winner,including 'best picture'....
starring Clint,Morgan Freeman and Gene Hackman...
plot:
Clint and Morgan are retired gunslingers/hired killers, Hackman while still a Sheriff,likes to live in his past glories....
Clint and Morgan team up with an almost blind guy(a young would-be gunslinger) to collect the bounty of $1000 against two men who slashed up a whore...
not your usual Clint western as the two of them are constantly battling themselves over what they were and what they are now...
often humorous iin places,almost sad in others....
all three stars play their parts very well...
movie is up there with his best IMO....not quite the callibre of "gran torino","pale rider","bridges of madison county" or "sudden impact", but still very good
and a worthy winner of the Acadamy Awards it recieved....
BTW...im looking foreward to seeing his "american sniper" movie!

Reese Witherspoon's "devil's knot"....
based on the true story of "the memphis three" killings in West Memphis,Arkansas in the 1990s....

not a great movie, but it from reading the wiki page on the actual crime, this is pretty close, so not difficult to like it

another bluray hire yesterday....
this time hte latest effort from Morgan Freeman and Johnny Depp.....
i love both those actors,especially Morgan(Depp can be a bit weird and 'out there' at times)
more of a sci-fi than anything else

Depp......,not as way-out as some of his roles,infact quite normal for him....
movie probably deserves a 6/10 from me...not great,not bad but okay.
