LUPINE HOWL "the bar at the end of the world" cd, 2002
career stats:
studio albums............2
singles....................N/A
this album................no chart action
second and final album from this UK alt rock band....
I cannot locate any chart information or this band at all...
very little info about them in general except for a couple of
paragraphs on Wiki....
album has sort of a Stone Roses thing happening...
light melodic almost psychedelic sounds without being psychedelic...
album falls a bit flat towards the end but overall...
not a bad album, would probably get their debut if I saw it in a discount bin...
worst track: signing off
best track: trust me?

tracks:
1...a grave to go to **
2...don't lose your head ***
3...can you forgive me? ***
4...the pursuit of pleasure ***
5...gravity's pull **
6...centre of the universe **
7...trust me? ***
8...signing off *
9...burning stars *
10.all I can do *
3s=4
2s=3
1s=3
rating: 2.1
ok, I thought of another site where I might find info on the band...
neither album charted,
two singles from their debut album(not this one) made the lower reaches of the UK
singles chart and that's that.

His voice reminds me of Leonard Cohen.

4th album
picked up producer Mitchell Froom who she later married
only reached #89 here
trying to live up to that Tom's Diner hit
it never happened

Mentioning one of SoM's albums has inspired me to listen to one of their songs.

The Idan Raichel Project Quarter to Six. Actually, I listen to his stuff regularly â find it hugely fulfilling and comforting listening, and yet I donât understand a word theyâre singing. The very first time I heard his music, it struck a profoundly resonant chord â probably some deep seated genetic roots connection.
On this release there are two particularly beautiful songs for me (and neither of them are Hebrew, but that is the nature of Idan Riachel â heâs a wonderfully expansive and inclusionary creature, and the fusion works so beautifully!). The first, from Mali with Vieux Farka Touré - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaCpc7osbek
And the second, with the counter tenor phenomenon that is Andreas Scholl singing âIn Stiller Nachtâ â two completely diverse offerings on one release; fantastic!
