What Are You Listening To? - SteveO - 25-01-2013 One of my all time favorites is ITCHYKOO PARK ! ...great band ...Odgens Nut Gone Flake is an excellent album!!!..unfortunately they were overshadowed by the Beatles and Stones...a case of bad timing I guess similar to the Kinks' situation. CRAZY-HORSE Wrote: What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 25-01-2013 listened to your link MH....not bad IMO but i certainly wouldnt go out and investigate further What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 25-01-2013 Message from the Broken Record Player Department - yes I am listening to it AGAIN. Pink Floyd's 'Wish You Were Here'. It still stuns me after all these years. Just plain bloody brilliant. Just plain bloody brilliant. ...or just plain bloody stupid......on your part LOL What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 26-01-2013 CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:...or just plain bloody stupid......on your part LOL I will lie in wait and when the moment is ripe, I will pounce! What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 26-01-2013 from my library (cd) If not for that damn Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum crap. Maybe if the names had been different. Just didn't fit among the classic lyrics on this one. Up among Bob's best in that category. I consider this one of his comeback albums. A nice mix of many styles on here, which are the makings of a true artist. We have rock, rockabilly, folk, country and jazz on this outing. Five love tracks for me, which should make it a love album, but it just misses, thanks to Dum and Dee. I need to get over Dum and Dee. Lack of any liner notes is the norm for Dylan, but this one doesn't even say who's playing in the band. Should have given them some credit. They really rock out on a few. Best for me is the amazing Mississippi, which was recorded on a different style by Sheryl Crow before Bob did it. Tough vote for that favorite though, and then there's those stupid Tweedle guys. I LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum Best Track - Mississippi 1) Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afp_kTaksMg 2) Mississippi *** - a crime there is no clip 3) Summer Days ** 4) Bye And Bye ** 5) Lonesome Day Blues *** - as good as any rock 'n' blues he has ever done audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGzzJukZQr8 6) Floater (Too Much To Ask) *** - a little country swing audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHMUYA7CGWY 7) High Water *** - bluegrass folk audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fdqF4XIUsE 8) Moonlight ** - jazz audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkX_GSs5qJs 9) Honest With Me *** - or we can just rock out audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvNNaAXUtHY 10) Po' Boy ** 11) Cry A While ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJGj8SWhKWc 12) Sugar Baby ** 3's - 5 2's - 6 1's - 1 Grade - 2.3 allmusic - 2.7 What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 26-01-2013 very good album IMO also MH.... hey, both me and my mum have a little joke about 'tweedle dee/dum' every now and then, especially when he releases another album she says 'any great titles like tweedle dee and tweedle dum on that one?", we just cant believe that he would even consider that for a title, its just so 'not Dylan' oh, by the way, Lonesome Day Blues is my favourite one on here(Bob at his 'modern' best IMO) What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 27-01-2013 Neil Young - After the Goldrush. Heard a choir singing the title track on the radio the other night. Fantastic version. Reminded myself that I have to revisit this one. Love that Tell Me Why track. Birds is another classic. What Are You Listening To? - SteveO - 27-01-2013 That opens up a whole new ball of wax, Jerome! I love listening to choir music from time to time!!!!!...I still enjoy watching the acapella choir singing Africa that you posted on MD awhile back!..here's a pretty version of Neil's classic...doesn't Emmylou look great!
