Eastbound and Down Wicked fun series about a middling good skills/giant ego baseball pitcher. The pluperfect low-rent rogue. Can have real salty language. Had a 4-year run on HBO. A very popular and critically acclaimed series, done by 2 different studios and with 2 different leads, it had a run of 46 films. Very popular in China; after all he was an Lt. on the Honolulu PD:

I just watched ...Murder Cruise and ...In Panama. Some wit, some action, the big scene at the end where he picks the evil malefactor out of a crowd. Great fun. And both are surprisingly well-regarded by critics. q.v.
