[INDENT] Maybe I'm just overly cynical, but when did we start caring about what email accounts the Secretary of State's used? Colin Powell used a personal one and I don't remember nearly anything even comparable to the backlash against Hilary after he left office. Nor do I see anything like it currently, while it's being reported and confirmed that he used personal email accounts. In fact, according to Powell's aid, the email account he used has been shut down due to inactivity so there's no chance we'll ever get to see what he was hiding.

Quote:“The account he used has been closed for a number of years. In light of new policies published in 2013 and 2014 and a December 2014 letter from the State Department advising us of these polices, we will be working with the department to see if any additional action is required on our part. [...]

He did not take any hard copies of emails with him when he left office and has no record of the emails."

Where's the outrage? Where's the anger? I mean, I for on am RAGING MAD. I'm FURIOUS. How could he use a personal email account? But nobody seems to care about Powell... Is it because Hilary's a Democrat? Or is it because she's a woman? Maybe because we think she's uglier than Powell?

Plus, why doesn't the NSA just have a copy of whatever emails Hilary sent? I thought the NSA was spying on everybody and logging everything we ever did?

I don't know. Maybe I'm too cynical but this whole thing reeks of a bogus scandal. There's a lot of valid things to criticize Hilary for. Instead we're focusing on whether her email account was Hilary.Clinton@whitehouse.gov or Hilary4Prez@aol.com.

Like there's going to be an email in Hilary's records to any person in any official capacity reading; "See that Benghazi blunder of ours? LOL. Whoops. Americans are so stupid if they buy this story. LOLOLOLOLOL."

There's not going to be some big smoking gun in her emails. That's what these high-level politicians have assistants for; to do all the shady stuff and fall on the sword, in return for a very nice payday, for the higher-ups.

I don't think HC is a fool by any means. I think she is an incredibly devious woman. Don't like her at all. And as for Bill - all he is interested in is the limelight. He cannot seem to let go of his public profile. When put together you have an egotistical, devious pair of individuals who like to come across as ever so 'good' but are inherently greedy for power and prestige. They really deserve each other. When he was caught out with the whole Monica affair did HC walk away? No way Jose. She wanted the advantages of life at the top.

Having said that, this whole email thing is just a public smear campaign - nothing more.

well said, both LMD and Jerome
see how we can talk about politics and be polite

LMD, it's because she's a democrat
those attacking her are republicans
the game is played by both sides
the dems missed the opportunity with Powell
you snooze, you lose
or maybe it's because they knew he was a dem at heart

at any rate the e-mail scandal will not hurt Hillary a bit
she's a lock

I think it's just a start at mudslinging since it's almost election time even though I don't like HC.
Wait till they start on the Republicans and they will.
BTW, who is at the top of the poll on the Republican side? Is it still Romney?

I've not even seen any polls lately so I don't know

The difference between what Colin Powell did and what Hillary Clinton did as regards emails and deleting is this: there were no rules in place to prevent his actions but there were for hers. Those rules were put in place as a direct result of his actions, and Ms. Clinton certainly had to know about them. NOTE: I'm neither an HC lover or hater, and agree this might all go away. Time Magazine has an interesting cover article on her this week which I unfortunately can't link--I'm not a subscriber.

The major Republican contenders: Senators Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, and Gov. Chris Christie. Mitt Romney has taken himself out of contention. Here's a short vid piece from late last year: http://www.myfoxny.com/story/27439046/top-republican-contenders-for-2016-presidential-election
There is a question of Sen. Cruz' eligibility due to where he was born. That's asked and answered here (take that, birthers): http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2013/aug/20/ted-cruz-born-canada-eligible-run-president/

I saw where Mitt Romney bowed out. Wonder why?
I still hope Huckabee runs.

Because he got beaten twice, got tired of the BS and knew he was gonna get out-flanked on the Right...and his donors agreed, fleeing him in droves.
I still hope Huckabee runs.

"Hope and Change" are beautiful things. A wise man once said that.
