What Did You Buy? - Tiggi - 15-05-2011

Bought tickets for three bands at our local small venue:

- The Duallers. Excellent Ska band we last saw at the Indigo in the O2 complex.
- Eliza Carthy Band. Contemporary Folk.
- Adrian Edmondson & The Bad Shepherds. Ex-Young One and his band doing Folkie versions of Punk songs. Bit like the Pogues.

Don't know if you like Ska at all, but the Dualers' album The Melting Pot is a brilliantly infectious piece of work.

i like the 2tone ska bands of the 1970's...selector,specials,beat,bad manners,madness....desmond dekker from the early 70s. i reviewed The Beat's double 'best of' set a few weeks ago, pretty sure it came in at "2.2"ish over the two discs....i even liked The Funboy Three back in the mid 80s
i'll have a look at "the melting pot" album this week.

re: RW....i actually envy you, should be brilliant, saw the Floyd some 20yrs ago, cant remember if he was with them on that tour as i wasnt really a fan, just went because of their legedary status.

^ That would have been the Rogerless Floyd. He quit the band in 1984, I think.

I'm in the process of downloading the following:

Opeth - Blackwater Park
Dragonforce - Sonic Firestorm
Rolling Stones - Hot Rocks 1964-71 (which I used to have on cassette)
various - 111 Rock n Roll Superhits

I also re-bought Phil Collins - Face Value on CD the other day (I used to have it on cassette)
