This kind of multi-year huge project experience could be translated into any country that's done similar--Canada (natch) but also Australia, South Africa, Russia, anywhere, thus an excellent premise and well-executed.

Slavery is an intensely complex issue and includes such as the UN denying medical care to large areas, thus "enslaving" big swaths of territory with disease and poverty (Saharan Black Africa is greatly under-served, e.g..) Stuff to keep in the back of your mind as you are swept up in these productions. A sense of perspective should rule...
