They broacast Mumford & Sons 'Live at Red Rocks' on television last night. Not impressed. Cannot understand how they got so big. More hype than anything else. Most of the group bouncing around all the time but not actually playing very much on their respective instruments. Lead singer does not impress me at all. It seemed to be all about 'let's convince the audience we are having a good time and then they'll think they are having a good time'. Very pedestrian. That keyboard player just irritates me. He should have been a ballerina instead.

ive never seen a broadcast of Mumfords or even seen them live so i cant really comment on their live performances, which, on your comments Jerome, i would have to say these guys are purely a studio band..
i have both of their albums,both of which i like a lot, but i did post somewhere here recently that if their next album hasnt got more variation in style or sound that i wont be buying it.
it also took me a good 12-15months to actually say that i like those guys,they just didnt gel with me at all initially...probably should have stuck with my forst impressions in hindsight!

dont get me wrong MH...i really like their albums a lot, and jumping around on clips is fine, but i guess(according to J-man) that they try to do that live also...no one can perform like that live and sing/play properly...unless theyre lipsyncing and playing to a pre-recorded track which im sure those guys wouldnt.

Back to the old cd rack. Hopes weren't that high for this one but it came out better than I
expected. One love track and one I do not like. Death Is Not The End had special meaning for me
as this came out right after my mother died. If not for that, not sure if it would rate this
high. I might even love Nick Caves version of this. The worst track, Rank Strangers To Me was just
a bore for me. One cover that I know of with Let's Stick Together, ok but I prefer Canned Heats.
Only half of these tracks listed as Dylan originals. A lot of nice guest spots as usual with Eric Clapton,
Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Steve Jones, Paul Simonon, Mark Knopfler and Ronnie Wood. Not a very
good review from the critics for this, not that Bob cared about such things. The album only reached
#61 here and #32 in the UK.
