Currently living in Florida, USA. Things are getting back to "normal" (horrible heat, and horrible humidity) after receiving the outer edges/bands of rain from Tropical Storm Debby.
Looks like it might turn out to be quite a lively hurricane season this year!

I'm currently dealing with the tail-end of a rather nastier-than-normal Summer Storm. Even though we may get these storms almost daily in the summer, they're generally just a downpour of rain for an hour or so (along with a few claps of thunder & lightning).
My power has been out for about an hour now, and I'm currently using my Galaxy Tab's 3G hotspot app to supply the internet for my laptop.
Overall, it's fantastic to watch from inside (despite the lack of power throughout my entire apartment community).

Hope you got your power back Spinner! I remember a fews years back some people had no power for three weeks due to Hurricane Juan ! I only lost power for a few days and count myself lucky with no substantial property damage.
As for thunder...it freaks the hell out of my dog...he goes into a total state of panic and tries to hide somewhere...fireworks (from Canada Day) has the same effect !!!!!...so for my pooch's sake I dread thunder storms !
We are in the midst of humid muggy weather, sunny, cloudy and showers....29 C, 85 F today ...but I LOVE IT !!!!!...we have a lake close by !

Thanks, SteveO! We did eventualy get out power back, a little after 8:30 PM or so. A total of roughly 5 hours without it, though that's nothing compared to when I moved down here to Florida.. right before Hurricane Charley hit the area. We were out of power for almost a week, afterwards.
Though, we were considered one of the lucky ones, because there were others that were affected by Charley who ended up without power for 2-3 weeks, or were in worse situations.
My two cats are nearly polar opposites of each other, when it comes to storms. One of them (the adventurous big sister), will stay out on our screened porch and just watch everything that's going on.
While my other cat (the timid little brother) will find the smallest, darkest, "safest" corner to hide in. And when you get fireworks going (much like the other day), he'll actually sit in pretty much the dead-center of the apartment, just about frozen in fear.
Considering how active the Tropical waters have been this year, so far, I'm guessing that this might be a rather busy hurricane season. Thankfully though, hurricanes don't generally come with a lot of thunder & lightning. Just high winds and a lot of rain.
I'm just absolutely jumping for joy and anticipation...

sort of in hte middle of winter here...
8C/46F nights, 21C/69F days, sunny for the most part, having the odd day of rain...but still lovely except when we get those ice cold Antartic winds with a wind chill factor of around 0C/33F which 'cut right to the bone"...
hey SteveO, wish i was over there with you man, 29C sounds perfect to me, my sort of temperature!!!!

It's in the 90's every day here! My home a/c has burnt out twice so far this summer and my car a/c had to be fixed too. I wish the rain would come back just to cool it off a little. I'm sick of being hot!
