i obviously loved these guys at some point, but not now!
dont like either side of this single,its all predictable psuedo reggae/pop...

FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS "suspicious minds" b/w "prick up your ears" 1986
now y'all know im a huge Evis Presley fan, but i gotta tell ya that,even IMO, this version of his Suspicious Minds is better than The king's version...
"b" side has lots of beats, sampled vocals and i like it, nothing like what you'd expect from these guys, and was ahead of its time back then...
single did get to #6 here, deserved #1..stupid Aussies!

THE FIRM "arthur daley(e's alright)" b/w "arthur daley(he is alright)" 1982
lighthearted song from a comedy group that pays homeage to the lead charactor in the UK tv series "minder" from the late 70s and early 80s..
"a" side is a cockney rhyming slang vocal version, "b" side is an upper-classed vocal version with correct english..
for those who dont know the series "minder", Arthur Daley is an east london conman who is always trying to make the next 'quid', story revolves around him and his ex-crim Terry McCann who acts as his minder, Arthur even cons his minder, tv series is humourous in places,serious in others
i like the "a" side, dont like the "b" side, single actually made the charts here peaking at #78...

FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS "funny how love is" b/w "motherless child" 1986
a ballad by these guys, didnt sell very well but i love it...
"b" side is a typical sounding FYC song and is a cover of the old traditional folk song, their sound simply doesnt go with this song,thus i dont like their version

FEARGAL SHARKEY "a good heart" b/w "anger is holy" 1985
Feargal was lead vocalist of Irish punk band The Undertones back in the day(i cant comment on them,havent heard them!)...
i fond his vocals to be fragile at times, yet can turn powerful in the blink of an eye...
this is not his best single IMO, that goes to his debut "listen to your father" from 1984(that one was only released in the uK)..
i like the "a" side, it sums up his sound very well, "b' side is good also, prefer that one to the "a' side

great,great single from the best Glam Rock band of the 1970s...
love Noddy Holder's vocals, they are rock and roll in the purist IMO, love these guys and love this single(both sides of it!)

not a big fan of Kylie but i do like this song...
"b" side is another 'feel ripped off' instrumental version which i guess is ok for karoke...

these guys were were what was left over from the breakup of ska band The Beat("english beat" to our american friends!)
love this stuff, love their unique sound and vocals, great stuff IMO.
"b" side is pretty good too, typical FYC formula though!
single reached #14 here,not a bad start to a career!
