A terrif new series on Showtime--Endgame. Interesting if dull-sounding premise: Russian chess Grand Master is locked inside his brain inside a luxo hotel--his wife was murdered just outside it and he can't leave. What he can do is solve crimes at a distance and with 2 unlikely helpers. Good stories, good writing, solid acting, and, importantly, the show is well-constructed--the producer's use techniques, not tricks--f'rinstance breaking down the 4th wall. Hulu's got it for free (+ commercials). Give it a try. 'Midst the trash and trivial, we live in a good time for PI/police procedural series'. Huzzah!

Haven't seen that on TV, but we catch many of Showtime's productions .
