BTW, I had a Ins. Agent come to my house and explain (ObamaCare MH :laugh
and the out of pocket is so high, I don't think I will be able to pay for the plan.Didn't know about that before but since the montly payment is so low they think that is the best way for me to go.
Sorry Obama. Find another sucker! I don't have that much out of pocket money.
If I got a cheaper ObamaCare plan I would have to go to a clinic. I have very good Drs. and I don't want to lose them!!
Guess I'll just have to die.

The Affordable Care Act is working better than even it's most ardent supporters had imagined. There's always going to be outliers and anecdotal evidence to boo-hoo it but the simple fact is it gives a good measure of healthcare affordability to a huge number of people, and actually reduces the nationwide healthcare bill (emergency care for common problems have dipped drastically 'cuz folks now can go to a family-practice doctor for those things,e.g.). What astonishes me is the hate coming from those who benefit the most--talk about working against your own interests! Lordy!
That Supreme Court case this week may be crucial to ACA survival. And Linda--don't blame the ACA--does your state have an insurance exchange to subsidize your payment costs? If not blame your State Govt., not DC. Also "out of pocket" generally means extra money you need to pay that which insurance doesn't cover, not those monthly insurance premiums. And you sought counsel from how many agents? 'Cuz it's an intensely competitive market--somebody's got to be able to work with you...

I know I've made a rep here as an attack dog but I'm not really that bad. Mostly, I try especially in this Thread to provide info and alternative suggestions. I do not understand the logic much less be convinced by it, as to why the states refused to set up state-run exchanges, forcing the Federal exchanges on themselves...and now want to turn around and destroy the systems of those states who did the right thing and participated. The law and subsequent Federal rules follow-up gave wide latitude to the states as to how to do it--no micro-management.
All the above from a guy who's own health insurance is subsidized by the US Postal Service, an outfit nearly every citizen in the US could have joined. Have a nice day.

Of course we'll mind you..and not just 'cuz you're Admin. But wait--am I reading a-right? You want to get rid of the capitalist nexus of this business and have government (and the Feds at that) control? Of course that's the way it should be and should have been since the 1940's. However the Grand Compromise was struck and we've been stuck with the the pre-Obamacare results 'til now. Nobody claims ACA is anything more than a Little Compromise but it's better than nothing. I sure wish SCOTUS reads "intent" into those 4 words and does the righteous thing.

I've talked to one of the three most well known and used Ins. companies in the world.
He came to my house and pulled it all up. Then I asked him to check and see if the plan allowed me to keep my own Drs.
The cheaper plan that is Limited I have to switch Drs. The Advantage allows me to keep my Drs. but at a much larger out of pocket rate.
If I choose to keep my Drs. (I'm not rich) it will cost me more than I think I will be able to pay. That's what Obama was not telling.
