Dan Roberts was born on this day in 1967. He was the bassist for the Crash Test Dummies and is the brother of bass-baritone lead singer, Brad. Aside from playing bass, he’s a keen and seemingly talented amateur cook. All creative – all good!

I loved this when it first aired – still do …

Jewel (Kilcher) was born on this day in 1974 in Utah, raised in Alaska. She released her debut album, Pieces of You, in 1995 and eventually got noticed; the rest, as they say, is history – she’s done extremely well. One of the best-selling debut albums of all time – it went 15 x platinum. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewel_discography.

Not my usual fare, but she has an emotive voice, and this is a great song -

Bob Dylan was born on this day in 1941 – that is all ... (except if you love him, don’t watch his recent appearance on Letterman – I’m so sorry Bob, truly … it’s all over now, baby blue)

Funny (or not so much) how his words are still relevant 50 years on -

a lot of his 'words' from the 60s/70s/early 80s are still relevant today....
proving very little has changes in the world, or should i say the state of the world, since 1962....

he's been a terrible live performer for most of his career and is simply abysmal now, though i think abysmal is probably a compliment
when it comes to describing his live shows.

that aside....Happy Birthday Bob.

yea
very painful to watch some of my 60's idols
I'm thinking "I can't possibly look that freakin old"
then I look in the mirror

Yes of course, re the words. I don’t know about the live stuff. I hear what you’re saying, but I really like his very early performances at Newport etc. They’re pretty cool – he was so collected for such a young guy. Just this one is so bizarre – he’s like caricature of himself – so disturbing! Seems as though he’s fully bought into the system, dyed hair ‘n all; blegghh! Not my Dylan. The song he sang was “The Night We Called It A Day”, oddly and prophetically enough. Not linking as IMHO it should remain unseen (and unfortunately, unheard)!! None of which precludes me from being a diehard fan (selectively :biggrin1Smile.
