heres a sobering Stat for America: (sorry, i like comparisons, numbers and stats)
around 2.59 million American soldiers served in Vietnam
of that 58,169 died
that equates to 1 in 44 or approximately 2.5% (which BTW is the norm for deaths for military in a war situation)
Covid in the US is killing 1 in 28 or approximately 4%.
imagine the riots in the late 60s and early 70s if around trice that number were being bought home in pine boxes draped in the flag??!!!
