What Are You Listening To? - Mrrusty1 - 23-04-2012 Tiggi Wrote:Neil Young - Everybody Knows This is Nowhereyes I think that is a really great album.. What Are You Listening To? - Mrrusty1 - 23-04-2012 Music Head Wrote:from my library (vinyl)I think all of the earlier Moodies albums are just fantastic and timeless What Are You Listening To? - Mrrusty1 - 23-04-2012 Uriah Heep Look at yourself What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 24-04-2012 from my library (vinyl) These guys are just strange. At least based on this album, the only one I have. Glam rock I guess. Aussie blokes formed the group in the early 70's and this is their second album. The first spent 16 weeks at #1 in the homeland. This one wasn't far behind, at 11 weeks at the top. Must come from walking around upside down all the time. The album never charted here. Toured with AC/DC and Split Enz while promoting their first album. A #1 single from this one with the title track and a #5 with All My Friends Are Getting Married, which is my favorite. I can handle both of those along with two others but the rest are rubbish to me. On my american release there are two tracks different from the original Australian release. Not sure what was behind that, but those were replace by two tracks from their first album. The group split in 1980 after five albums, and have been inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame. Guess I was out of touch on these guys, as they were certainly popular down under. I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Love On The Radio Best Track - All My Friends Are Getting Married Well all my friends are getting married Yes they're all growin' old They're all staying home on weekends They're all doin' what they're told Well I looked into the crowd the other night And I saw an old familiar face He said "How are you doin' Shirl my boy?" He said " Tell me, are you playin' the same old place?" I asked him all about himself And he said that he was married with a kid Showed me a picture of his wife And we talked about all those things we did Well all my friends are getting married Yes they're all growin' old They're all staying home on weekends They're all doin' what they're told Well sometimes I feel like I'm left behind And sometimes I feel like I've just left school Wonder if I'll ever grow up Maybe I'm the only fool Well all my friends are getting married Yes they're all growin' old They're all staying home on weekends They're all doin' what they're told But I'm all caught up with this magic Yes I'm all caught up with this fun I'm all caught up with this music Well maybe I'll never have a son Well maybe I'll never have a son Well all my friends are getting married (Oh, the time has come) Yes they're all growin' old (Yes, they're all growin' old) They're all staying home on weekends (I just want to be here, on my own) They're all doin' what they're told (Oh yes, they're growin' old) They're all doin' what they're told (Yes they won't, settle down) They're all doin' what they're told (But I don't wanna be, pushed around) 1) Ego Is Not A Dirty Word ** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UduuxKdPt9Q 2) Love On The Radio * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=piyaRB_Ecxk 3) Saturday Night * live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q05uvm8HVlQ 4) Love's Not Good Enough ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4PMEG-6xWw 5) The Other Side * live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRAeQKQ72_Y 6) Smartarse Songwriters * 7) Mercedes Ladies ** 8) All My Friends Are Getting Married ** live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P273o0m1AFw 9) Horror Movie * live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAR9EIcYY8Q 10) You Just Like Me 'Cos I'm Good In Bed * live - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfLNjDSfkcY 3's - 0 2's - 4 1's - 6 Grade - 1.4 so many albums, so little time What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-04-2012 very very strange band MH but at least your best track is their best track!!!!! they reformed in the late 80's and released one album, had a #1 hit here with "jukebox in siberia".... the majority of the band ended up as members of studio bands on TV here, the singer Shirley Strachan went back to carpentry and hosted one of those reality home improvement shows before he dies in a light plane crash in the 1990s What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 25-04-2012 from my library (vinyl) Not up there with them classic earlier albums, but this sixth release passes. They started to lose me after this one. I guess I was a James Dewar fan as much as a Robin Trower fan. Three love tracks with My Love, It's For You, and King Of The Dance taking the top. Two bombs, Birthday Boy and the instrumental title track taking the worst. This album seems to have more of a funk feel than previously. Nothing wrong with that, just a change. Robin was probably tiring of the Hendrix shadow he was tagged with. A #37 is the best the album could do, with no singles charting. Two albums later the band was dropped by their long time label, Chrysalis. A good album, but it makes you yearn for Bridge Of Sighs. I LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Caravan To Midnight Best Track - King Of The Dance I was raised in the ghetto And the floor was my bed The rhythm of the streets Was my daily bread It's a restless situation And each day's a game of chance 'Cause when you dance in the streets For a nickel or a dime You learn how to move, babe You learn how to shine And if you shine like a star They'll call you king of the dance So come on, come on get up on the floor Come on, come on dance me some more Come on take a chance Be the king of the dance I'm gonna dance for the world I ain't never gonna stop It's a long way down When you're looking from the top And if you shine like a star They'll call you king of the dance So come on, come on get up on the floor Come on, come on dance me some more Come on take a chance, baby Be the king of the dance Come on, come on, get up on the floor Come on, come on dance me some more Come on take a chance, yeah Be the king of the dance, yeah I was raised in the ghetto And the floor was my bed The rhythm of the streets Was my daily bread It's a restless situation Every day's a game of chance Come on, come on get up on the floor Come on, come on dance me some more Come on take a chance, yes Be the king of the dance Yeah come on, come on, get up on the floor Come on, come on dance me some more Come on take a chance Be the king of the dance, yes, yes Come on, come on now get up on the floor Come on, come on and dance me some more Come on take a chance Be the king of the dance 1) My Love (Burning Love) *** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmX6jZcmc6w 2) Caravan To Midnight * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jelh6BimomM 3) I'm Out To Get You ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSEqobrEc08 4) Lost In Love ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tvw4CvHlYLQ 5) Fool ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nriwq-V4HqI 6) It's For You *** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UtmiSlfeBY 7) Birthday Boy * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaWyEXms2d0 8) King Of The Dance *** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MplCN-q6HB8 9) Sail On ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPZO-DsnSpw 3's - 3 2's - 4 1's - 2 Grade - 2.1 so many albums, so little time What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 25-04-2012 Jerome Wrote:I am impressed - you have converted????? haha Jerome!....i actually admitted i loved Division Bell when i first joined MD, strangely enough Dani is a big Floyd fan and she doesnt rate this album much even though she loves Gilmour's work over Waters'???...go work that one out???
