It's up to enlightened citizens to keep a close eye on these pernicious rascals, whichever end of the political spectrum. I've been hurt by strong Lefties--sometimes it hurts more when you are aligned with their expressed interests...and then they kick you in the slats. The Big Ouch for real...and a little part of belief, dies.

What do you know. I think we agree jazz

Not least because I deliberately kept it non-sectarian. Left and Right are only vehicles, pointers, to the power-hungry and money-greedy.

crap, here I go again
I don't share this hatred of politicians that you guys do
nor a hatred of wealth (better known as envy)
if you have a crooked pol, vote/kick them out
no you can't do this as an individual but voting is our only option
we are a democracy
politicians are no more evil than people in general
they are performing a job that they were elected by the people to do
I do hate politicking, but I don't hate politicians

The word hate is too strong in this case! I would use the words mistrust, disrespect and lazy though! I had my rant on politicians earler in this thread!;;;I often hear the comment
"Somebody has to do it!"...WELL DO IT RIGHT then! Just don't be a big lump of whatever and avoid serious problems and wait out 5 years to get your pension...ridiculous!

To line their own pockets,period!

100% correct - And to Steve's post - the classic 80/20 principle. In Ireland the politicians are basically corrupt but paint themselves as the saviours of the planet and the epitome of all that is good when in fact they are the biggest bunch of liars and cheats. And Ireland has about 4 times more politicians than it needs. The head of state earns more than the president of the USA - and he only has to manage a very small country. If any politician is in office for 2 years or more they get a full pension (plus a load of other benefits) so as a result there is absolutely no incentive for them to actually do anything while they are in office because they have it made after 2 years anyway.

Sounds like the sort of thing that happens Worldwide Steve. 20% doing all the work while the other 80% parassiting big time. Wow!!! I've lived that on my skin.
Work ethic belongs to the few and those poor few are also denigrated. Lovely.

Too bad!! Oh well okay. Actually, it's sort of what I expected.

I don't hate politicians. I love politics. I just hate some of the laws they pass that hurt us if it be Dems or Republicans.

Any laws in particular you'd care to mention/comment on? Also--Federal or state?
