goth metal raver Wrote:What's Dubstep like? I don't think I've heard any.

Not the easiest question to answer! It spawned from late 90s British garage music and best of all has a much darker feel to it than other electronic genres. The thing I like about it is the constant variation in the tempo and no. of beats in comparison to others such as Trance or Techno, which I dislike.

My fees are reasonable Cool

I'll be sure to give you the lowdown on the MC & TD ones.

What Did You Buy? - Jerome - 25-12-2010

Had this on vinyl before and finally got the CD yesterday. Love Over Gold - Dire Straits - Mr Knopfler is quite simply a bloody genius. Telegraph Road and Private Investigations are brilliant - as are the rest of the tracks. More of this please Mr Knopfler!!!!

'And my radio says tonight it's gonna freeze
People driving home from the factories
Six lanes of traffic
Three lanes moving slow....'

How appropriate.

Would that be 'Telegraph Road'? Love Over Gold is a really great album but I tend to prefer their last album 'On Every Street' for it's more varied sound.

It would indeed Mr Soul! And you are right - On Every Street is far more palatable - and a much better overall album. What I like about LOG is the extended pieces and also the piano playing of Mr Clark perfectly complements Mark's playing. They leave space around their parts so the other guy can do his thing. If you ever get the chance, listen to his album of movie soundtracks called 'Screenplaying' especially the track 'Last Exit to Brooklyn' - something I play religiously every Christmas - all instrumental and very mellow. Simplicity itself. Great dinner music if you just want to chill out.

In addition to the 40 records I've already bought I got the following on download via a £10 'e-music' voucher I got as a present this Xmas. Managed to get some albums on download which are extremely expensive & rare on CD.

Gary Moore- Back On The Streets (1979)

Will never understand why this is so expensive to obtain on CD, considering it's one of Moore's biggest albums. In comparison to amazon asking for around £30 for this on CD I managed to get this on download for about £5.00!

Gary Husband's Drive- Hotwired (2009)

[Image: albumcoverGaryHusbandsDrive-Hotwired.jpg?1231906072]

After witnessing Husband's impressive drumming during the Trower & Bruce 'Seven Moons' concert in Holland, I had been meaning to investigate Husband's jazz outings. With this album only costing around £3 this was a definitive download.

Bill Nelson- Buddha Head (1995)

Bought a few tracks from this Nelson release with the rest of the voucher. 'My Philosophy' & the title track. Fellow Nelson fans will know that virtually all of his albums are extremely rare and expensive to get a hold of. Full cd album is currently for sale on amazon in used condition for around £20.

Will do CH
Just placed the order, so not expected till next week.
