just got round to hearing a few of the tracks that i do not know....

pretty darn good IMO..dont really have much of Elton's 1970s works apart from "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and what i have on best of sets, was sort of too young to know who he really was back then,thus only have his 80s albums,and a few others from the 90s and 00's....so a look at his earlier material is on the cards now...

awesome talent, and obviously at his best in the 70s and early 80s IMO.

not totally an album of newly recorded material...
eight tracks were recorded for this one, in terms of length for a vinyl album too many and the group didnt want to leave some in the vaults, so they delved back into their old vaults and found seven more tracks to end up filling up a double album....the result....Physical Graffiti.
the first disc is very stereotypically Zed Zep material(raunchy blues rock), the second disc a bit more experimental with fokly ballads, slow blues and an eastern sounding instrumental track in "bron-yr-aur".
im sure that with more exposure to this one it will get a love rating next time round!, oh yeh....Dani loves this album!
the album sold 12 million copies worldwide, of that eight million copies were sold in the US alone. as usual the album reached #1 just about everywhere, except here in australia where it only reached #2 on the charts.

a bit of trivia:
"boogie with stu" had writing credits going to the band and also Mrs.Valens who happened to be the mother of singer Ritchie Valens, who the band loved, they gave her a credit on the track as they had read somewhere that she didnt recieve any royalties from her sons record label after he died...!
