39 million and counting - the last 5 million infections were in a relatively short space of time. UK is going to overtake SA with regard to number of infections. Europe is heading for a miserable winter. Ireland's figures rising quickly as well. Cancel 2021.

i agree with the 'cancel 2021' comment also.
i remember when Covid first started in February our Government said it would be a minimum of at least a year of chaos and another year until everyone who needs to be immunised can be immunised assuming treatment can be found by th end of the year".
seems our Government are the only ones who have been totally honest and upfront with the population from the get-go.
people here arent panicing about the virus but have resigned theirselves to the fact that its here but lets do what we have to do to keep everyone safe.

another Covid milestone....40 million cases worldwide now, was 20 million on August 10th, so basically two months from 20 to 40.

Biggest problem is that if the numbers continue to climb like this, and I believe they will for some time, how the hell are the hospitals going to cope? Emergency care workers are going to be overwhelmed. Infections are increasing at work as well. We had a few isolated cases a few months ago but more and more are starting to appear. Not good.

Snowballing for sure. At work we used to talk about the infection rate worldwide - now it's all about how many infections have we got in the plant this week.
