my Dad's singles collection.... - CRAZY-HORSE - 30-05-2015 ERNIE K-DOE "te-ta-te-ta-ta" B/W "real man" 1961 all i remembered from this New Orleans native was "mother-in-law" and im not alone as it was his only real hit... i like both sides here, but i prefer the "B" side over the "A" side for some reason(maybe its that stupid title...lol!) this one did, however, make it to #27 in the UK charts... here's his short Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernie_K-Doe "te-ta-te-ta-ta" ** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ht-IVjsOTcE audio link "real man" ** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQU1ryLTULg audio link my Dad's singles collection.... - CRAZY-HORSE - 10-06-2015 JOHNNY FERGUSON "angela jones" B/W "blue serge and white lace" 1959 i cannot find any info on this single or on the artist.... all i can find is that it was written by John D Loudermilk who recorded his own version several years later... "A" side is a lovely light pop song "B" side a little more country orientated than the "A" side, it is also written by Loudermilk "angela jones" *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IeuM7VzwnY audio link "blue serge and white lace" ** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLH5szGyZHw audio link my Dad's singles collection.... - CRAZY-HORSE - 10-06-2015 ANIMALS "dont let me be misunderstood" B/W "club-a-go-go" 1965 love both sides of this single from Eric Burden and Co.... single peaked at #3 on the UK charts back in the day... "dont let me be misunderstood" *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfwN0X8YnWo tv performance "club-a-go-go" *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0o3_WunegMY tv performance Elvis Costello had a minor UK hit in the mid 1980s covering the "A" side.... i love his version also, here it is if youre interested.... the video for Elvis' version is terrible IMO, but theres no denying his talent and class. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JlfiDGVB9s video my Dad's singles collection.... - CRAZY-HORSE - 10-06-2015 TOM JONES "whats new, pussycat" B/W "the rose" 1965 im a huge fan of Tom but...... i cannot stand this "A" side, its so cheesy and corny IMO... "B" side is a ballad, i should love this one but i cannot stand it... allup a disappointing release for me from Tom, but it did manage to get to #1 on the UK charts so what do i know! "A" side is a cover of the Neil Sedaka classic, i love Neil's original(as i do a lot of his material)... even htough this is disco i do like their version of the song also... "B" side...typical disco, and typically, i do not like disco! single peaked at #9 in Australia.... here's their Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eruption_(band) "one way ticket" ** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bxgkcBKT7Q tv performance "left me in the rain" * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVOYojPWV38 audio |
