Gouldman wrote some of 10ccâs their best known songs â the dreamy âIâm Not In Loveâ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_cVCtw7iLA, âDreadlock Holidayâ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbdCvzF4qqw, âThe Things We Do For Loveâ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-6PnsnBpQE, âArt For Artâs Sakeâ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qpVyMxA0jo, "Feel the Benefit" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HcxhcSlTc4, and âIâm Mandy, Fly Meâ Born on this day ... - jazzboCR - 10-05-2015 For more on Mr. Gouldman, see this (Post # 42): http://www.music-discussion.com/showthread.php/15929-championing-the-unheralded-an-ongoing-thread/page9 Born on this day ... - Music Head - 11-05-2015 Eric Burdon - born on this day in 1941 in England that would make him 74 #1 US/UK/AUS/CAN with this Born on this day ... - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-05-2015 IAN DURY born in 1942... led a tragic, yet fulfilled life... cripled from polio as a child only to die a death of cancer a few years ago... ended up dying almost a pauper because he gave most of his money away to help develop vaccines/cures for childhood diseases... reggae/funk/ska/musichall sounds were throughout his tunes along with his 'cockney rhyming slang' and sarcasm. here's probalby his most famous track plus links to a couple of others "there aint half been some clever bastards" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPvRsLWlDXw audio link billericay dickie" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdYxAD31WSA live....this is how you can be crude without the foul language seen nowadys! Born on this day ... - Ruby - 12-05-2015 Steve Knight was born on this day in 1935. He was recruited as all things keys related to the fairly short-lived yet successful rock band, Mountain. They have been cited as heavily influential in the rock kingdom and first became noticed when they appeared at âWoodstockâ, which coincidentally, was Knightâs home town. http://www.mountainrockband.com/history.html After leaving Mountain, he returned to improvisational jazz being highly competent on a range of instruments - tuba, trombone, piano and organ although primarily a bassist. During the 90's, he returned to Woodstock and sat as a councilman there for a couple of terms. He died in 2013 at the age of 77. This track was untitled when Mountain played it at Woodstock, which was also only their fourth gig. They named it later, âFor Yasgurâs Farmâ, and it was released on their debut album Climbing! which achieved gold status ...
