Eagle-Eye Cherry was born on this in 1969, in Stockholm, Sweden. He is the son of Don Cherry and brother of Neneh. Singer/songwriter/guitarist/pianist, he lived in the USA for a while but returned to live in Sweden after the death of his father, and he continues to perform and record there and elsewhere in Europe. His biggest musical success to date has probably been his debut album, Desireless, which was released in 1998. It’s a slightly edgy, intelligent, not-quite-pop/alt rock offering supposing there is such a genre-defying thing! Lol! Nicely produced too – good Swedish quality.

The title track is fantastic, a re-working of father, Don's "Desireless", which I may have already posted somewhere here before, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk2FpODNJR4, the best known single from the album, “Save Tonight” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHxnm1-gVS4, and “Rainbow Wings” because I particularly like the sounds and the arrangement …

Happy Birthday to the Piano Man, aka Jelly Bowl (some might know him as Billy Joel) - it’s impossible to paraphrase his achievements, besides, that’s already been done here; the man has something like six honorary doctorates, any number of awards and an outrageous number of singles - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Joel_discography.

He was born in ’49, as in the lyrics of just one of many favourites -

He may or may not be a fulfilled man but he's certainly nothing like a happy one. Besides, in NJ, "BJ" stood for...Bon Jovi--forget those Long Island poofsters and their "Woe is me" attitudes--suck it up and get on with it, Bro.
