What Are You Listening To? - Jerome - 11-01-2012 William Orbit's take on Samuel Berber's 'Adagio for Strings' - only one word for it. Masterpiece! What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 11-01-2012 Do not have that Beach Boys album but know everything on it. Surprised you only gave Wouldn't It Be Nice **, one of my loves for sure Pretty sure the album would come out that way also. One of my favorite 60's groups. What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 11-01-2012 Music Head Wrote:Do not have that Beach Boys album but know everything on it. was a toss up as to ** or *** for "wouldnt it be nice", was never a big fan of the Beach Boys(i dont like the beach and surf etc..maybe thats why?), but they made some of the more memorable singles from the 1960s, and certainly cant knock their harmonies at all What Are You Listening To? - Tiggi - 11-01-2012 God Only Knows has to be close to being the most beatiful song I can think of. What Are You Listening To? - mtthwibrahim - 11-01-2012 "SMiLE" is better than "Pet Sounds" just sayin' What Are You Listening To? - mtthwibrahim - 11-01-2012 so now, for bout the fifth time, I'm relistening to "Blood on the Tracks". Sorry, but I just can't get into it. "Tangled Up in Blue" is great, but it really is a bit hard to feel sympathy for Dylan. A man who could have any woman wants, crying about a break-up, it just sounds like self-pity. I know it's blasphemy, but, as we've learned from my last posts, nothing is holy to me What Are You Listening To? - SteveO - 11-01-2012 The group Battles..albums Mirrored and Gloss Drops ! What Are You Listening To? - CRAZY-HORSE - 12-01-2012 ![]() CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL "bayou country" cd,1969. their second album, their first of three of 1969 studio releases... only seven tracks on the vinyl album, but the cd contains several demos/live recordings and a single previously unreleased track. this one includes the classic Proud Mary, which is better than the Ike/Tina original IMO. three *** tracks and four **'s here making this a love rating of 2.4... not quite as good as "cosmo's factory" or "willie and the poor boys" albums but still an essential addition to anyone who like pure old fashioned rock n roll... from the album born on the bayou Creedence Clearwater Revival - Born On The Bayou - YouTube live proud mary http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-2Of9aznxg live keep on chooglin' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhAEzyxuotY audio What Are You Listening To? - Tiggi - 12-01-2012 ![]() The first lend from Robbie of 2012. Their debut, released in 2011. Soul, Blues, & Rock hybrid that are sort of similar to The Black Crowes. The reviews don't really mention their Bluesiness, but it seemed pretty clear to me. Wasn't sure if this would be for me at the start of the disc, but by the end Mrs T & I were suitably impressed. This'll go onto the Buy List, albeit with a fairly low priority. Not yet reviewed by RoviMusic. What Are You Listening To? - Music Head - 13-01-2012 from my library (vinyl) I could have loved this group if not for those shrilly vocals again. Same as Neal Peart of Rush. Get them two guys in a small room together, let 'em have at it, and you'd have some serious glass damage. Some good music here on this thirteenth studio album. Title is due to the presence of eight former Yes alumni (Squire, Rabin, White, Kaye, Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman, Howe). Not sure if all are on all tracks or some on each, no liner notes. Jon is always there though. Unlike previous Yes albums, the material here has no theme as tracks were written by different members at different times. Getting them all together must have been a chore as they were all doing other projects. The union never happened again. Other than a couple of short instrumental pieces there was nothing I didn't like here, and a couple of love tracks. I was pleasantly surprised not having heard it in years. They did tour to support the album, but sales did not live up to expectations. That's what it says, but a #15 on the chart seems respectable to me. Very Nice live cip for both of my love tracks. Damn! Steve Howe looks rough, and that was 20 years ago. I LIKE THIS ALBUM Worst Track - Evensong Best Track - Lift Me Up Look around - Got no place to stay. God I hate this town, depending on the day. You lift me up, you lift me down - Alright, OK. While I got no life, I got no hope; I'm falling in love. Help me through the fight; Help me with tonight - I'm calling. What to do I find it hard to know; Lord, the walk is not the one I chose... Lift me up and turn me over; Lead me on into the dawn. Take me to the highest mountain; Tie me up, love in a storm. Have you decided on my fortune? Facing the future in your eyes, With your imperial behaviour We fight amidst the battle cries. Open doors - They may be closed to me; The fire's still burning in my heart... What to do I find it hard to know; I want to turn my life around... 1) I Would Have Waited Forever ** audio - I Would Have Waited Forever by Yes - YouTube 2) Shock To The System *** live - 03 Shock To The System - YouTube 3) Masquerade * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akTP3nF_9So 4) Lift Me Up *** live - Yes: Lift Me Up (Live '91) HQ - YouTube 5) Without Hope You Cannot Start The Day ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgPgWBcyaXw 6) Saving My Heart ** live - Saving My Heart - YouTube 7) Miracle Of Life ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwhbdP7PmLY 8) Silent Talking ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdAM8yVhUEQ 9) The More We Live-Let Go ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA-4POTRhhs 10) Angkor Wat ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3r1gDrTpwVw 11) Dangerous (Look In The Light Of What You're Searching For) ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SwtVpGkrrE 12) Holding On ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGWv4LxMFvc 13) Evensong * audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_YsCX0TaAk 14) Take The Water To The Mountain ** audio - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zr89kp2PlGU 3's - 2 2's - 10 1's - 2 Grade - 2.0 so many albums, so little time |
