Politics - Jerome - 23-09-2014

Just as a matter of interest, has anybody on the forum actually read the Koran? I have not so I cannot really comment on it, but I keep on getting the feeling that every one of these faction/splinter groups is just using it any way they see fit. I suppose this is true of all other religions as well. Surely if there is a book with rules there cannot be any ambiguity as to what those rules are????? Either that or there must be many versions of this book. So which one is right? The age-old question. And the thing that always gets to me is this - everyone believes that THEIR religion is the right one, without ever taking into account anyone else's religion or culture. Or even societies that don't have a 'religion'. At the end of the day I believe that human beings are just using religion to mask what they are really after - power. And of course - money. But not one of these sanctimonius self-serving organizations will ever admit to it. They would blow their cover if they did. How much time has the human race wasted on this crap. Just treat people the way you want to be treated - it's not rocket science.

its no different to the Christian Bible...
they have their version of "the 10 commandments", its all about 'turning the other cheek'.'treating everyone with respect'...all the usual suspects!
Jesus christ is also included in what ive read, even Islam refers to him as a 'prophet'...
admittedly, i havent read it all, infact only skipped/skimmed through it,,so probably actually read somewhere between 1/4 and 1/3 of it

its not the Koran thats the problem, it people who turn around the words to suit themselves like with every Religious book.

this song sums it up.....

Actually, he is called the Antichrist or the Beast. Therefore, even though I don't care for Hillary, Steve the Antichrist is going to be a man not a woman. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

I think it is very interesting for us to be alive this day and time and to see on the news prophecy unfolding right before our eyes!

Some form of the Decalogue appeared 7000 years before Jesus the Christ came on the scene. The major Judeo-Christian difference was pledging fealty to G*d, to accept these as "must-dos". With the Hittites and Zoroastrians, they were ethical/moral rules as to how to lead a good life ("should-dos")--revere a force outside this Earthly sphere, and treat Earth and it's inhabitants with due respect. I'm not that smart--I got all that from this (it's worth your time to at least skim): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Commandments
BTW the gent RebelGirl uses as a tagline? THE BEST gospel writer of all time, and he and The Disciples have sold out every major venue worldwide. I like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Go3O0tuY5TU << Gospel both Black and White are such a major force in at least US music, it deserves at minimum sub-heading status. Anybody want to step up? Serious fervor goin' on with this genre!

CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:"terror/terrorist/terrorism" is finally here in Australia now, its not just "something that happens elsewhere" now....!

OK so what do you call the horror visited upon the original inhabitants of continents by Western nations wanting their territory for their own and willing to do nearly anything to get it? Isn't giving infected blankets to Native Americans/ First Peoples a prime form of terrorism? Let's don't be too fussy or hypocritical. Are these modern actions fulfillment of the Prophecy Christianity foretells? Why ask why? Just drink Bud (or Fosters or Labatt) dry...

Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 24-09-2014

if youre using the brand name "fosters" because i am Australian, which i assume you are, because chances are you wouldnt have used that word to anyone else on the forum, you would be sadly mistaken and believing the stereotypical/cliched image people have of Australia jazzy....
we dont "put shrimps on the barby" out here
kangaroos dont hop through the city centres
not everyone watches "neighbours"/"home and away"
no, we dont all know Steve Irwin,Paul Hogan or Olivia Newton John
people generally dont wear the 'slouch hat' with corks dangling down to keep the flies away
and finally....
Australian's dont drink Fosters' Lager, its feral, disgusting and so 1970s....i'd say at least 90% of Fosters is sold outside of Australia,Aussie's generally cant stand the stuff, most call it "poor man's brew/piss", its drunk when you dont have money to buy anything else.

personally, im not a big drinker anymore...i generally buy a six-pack of Guinness and two four packs of Budweiser a week or so prior to Xmas, that usually last me until FA Cup night in April/May when i finish whats left whilst watching that sporting event, then very rarely will i drink alcohol until the following Xmas.
i did, however, make an exception whilst in Nashville with Music Head when i actually ticked off one of my 'bucketlist' items...to have a T-Bone and a Bud in a Nashville Bar...had a few Bud's in Florida also with Major Tim and Music Head, but hey...i was on vacation and allowed myself the luxury of a few beers.

as for "the horror original inhabitants" comment...
sorry mate,
thats in the past, hundreds or years ago, the world was a vastly different place then...
people did what they did by plundering/raping/killing in the "new worlds" because simply...people were generally 'barbarians' back then...
and that was just 'the way of the world' back then, plain and simple.
we, in the 21st Century should know better, we've all seen the results of what has happened in the past, no point going backwards and feeling sorry for what happened then, what is important is learning from the past, and that is the only way we will move foreward as not only people but also as a world.
your Native Indians, our Aboriginals, the Innuit's etc were brought up in this world-today,they didnt have the rug pulled from under them, they have no real understanding of the way of the world2/3/4 or 500 yrs ago and nor do us Anglo Saxons, we all have to get on with what we have,be grateful we're all here to get on with life now...not live in the past.
and with the likes of ISIS/ISIL/IS etc etc...
they know what is right and wrong, they have the internet and social media etc...
they choose to act the way they do and twist the words in their 'Holy Book' to justify the means to an end, sorry, but they know fullwell what theyre doing.

in the words of the great Paul Weller from "my everchanging moods" 1984:

the past is our knowledge,
the present our mistake,
and the future,we always leave to late.

and:

teardrops turn to children
who've never had the time
to commit the sins they pay for through-
another's evil mind.

Thank goodness Eric Holder is resigning!! That's one down. Too bad Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are not resigning. They get on my last nerve!! And what do y'all think about the "Latte Salute"? What a disgrace for any Pres.!! As far as Obama's comment on Islam and us never being at war with them, what is that a joke. Of course we are at war with Islam if we support Israel. This war has been going on ever since Abraham!! That's one thing that is wrong with Obama. He is too Pro Islam and Muslims!!

I was watching Hannity tonight and they were talking about almost 200 people are infected with the Ebola virus now here in the U.S. Some in Texas and at least one here in North Carolina. Just as I suspected. The virus is here. Scary!!
