MALCOLM VAUGHAN "wait for me" B/W "willingly" 1959

Welsh singer/actor who had a number of hits in the UK in the 1950s with his booming Tenor vocals....
i'd not heard of Malcolm prior to picking this one out, well, i had heard of him, just not heard his songs...
i like both sides of single, but i wouldnt say i'd go out to by a compilation off the back of it though
single peaked at unlucky #13 in the UK...
i say unlucky because it was his last charting single!

ANDY GIBB "dont throw it all away" B/W "one more look at the night" 1978

younger borther of Barry,Maurice and Robin....
i mean, who wouldnt like these songs, they were written by the Bee Gees, and lets face
it, these guys knew how to write solid pop songs.
single peaked at a lowly #61 in Australia

CRAZY-HORSE Wrote:CARLA THOMAS "gee whiz" B/W "for you" 1960

its cool to see my dad bought a Carla Thomas single...
known as "the queen of Memphis soul", recorded on the Stax label...
if youre ever in that town, drop in to the Stax museum, its well worth it!
anyway...

Anytime I see this song linked, I grab the cans. Here's another take on a song Ms. Thomas wrote at 15: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEBeavxvm3A ><< There were tears all down my face...even on the the 4th hearing. Find me a more impassioned perf of this. And then there's this song by Bernadette: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXldT0MySBI
Wanna see what killed doo-wop?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0BwqwbchoM << Not the same song--just sayin'...

another Dionne single....

DIONNE WARWICK "you can have him" B/W "dont say i didnt tell you" 1964

i love this "A" side...very upbeat and country sounding for Dionne, but she nails this one to a tee...
Elvis also recorded the "A" side in the mid 1970s, theres some bad recordings of it on the WWW,
it was released on a retrospective live set about a decade ago.
"B" side is more along the lines of what we expect from Dionne....
single peaked at #37 in the UK
no Wiki, its located in the post above this one

JOHN ROWLES "hush....not a word to mary" B/W "the night we called it a day" 1968

John is a New Zealander,
has a vocal quality similar to Tom Jones, infact it would be easy to confuse the pair of them....
love both sides of this single
