IDLEWILD "post-electric blues" cd,2009.
got this one on the strength of a Gryphon review of it in his weekly new release threads when it was released.
some nice alt.rock on this one from these Scottish lads,this is their sixth album since 1999.
a couple of alt.folk tracks on here,the rest alt.rock/pop
some nice melodies and guitar work here(nothing complicated though,just straight foreward stuff)
nothing great and only one i do not like,the rest, likeable are tracks from an era that makes too much throwaway music.
sorry for the lack of links,especially the absence of one for my favourite track on this one, but the three live links are pretty good IMO

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS "No.4" cd,1999.
fourth album by these San Diego "Rock Gods"...
for the most part(especially in the first few tracks) sounding remarkably like Soundgarden and Pearl Jam(both bands i struggle to appreciate!), then the album slowly get quieter to more melodic sounds, culminating in the beautifully crafted "atlanta" which has that same dreamy,surreal sound of The Doors(another group i struggle with!)...yet with these comparrisons and similarities to others i still manage to like this one a lot...good grungy sounds here,good rock and a couple of nice slow ballady type songs also...
BTW, Dani loves this one more than i do and she's only heard it the once now!

THE TING TINGS "sounds from nowhereville" cd,2012.
this one was a freebie 'instore promo copy" from Corey a while ago...
this is TT's second album....
some nice alt.pop on this album, sounds in places like Gwen Stefani's solo material, acouple of duds, acouple of loves and the rest is decent enough from this UK group,
touches of reggae,pop,dance,some very loose 'rap' also, just bits of everything really, would probably have bought this one if i'd have heard it first, but cant really go wrong with a freebie!

Ouch, my ears are burning from the synth. It didn't take my breath away, that's for sure. Probably bought this for
Sex (I'm A...), but Masquerade is the fav. One more like other than those two, with the title track, then it's crap.
With only seven tracks, not much room for improvement. This is the LA groups second album, and it would be one more
before they broke through for me with that Take My Breath Away hit. Originaly released on the Enigma label, it
didn't become known until some DJ somewhere started playing Sex. It took off and was re-released by Geffen. Always
considered them a Blondie clone, down to the blondie singing (Terri Nunn). This is the groups best selling album
going platinum over the years, although only reaching #30 on the charts. Three singles were released, Sex,
Masquerade, and The Metro, with none of those breaking the top 50. Surprised the album has done as well as it has,
but a platinum seller is serious sales. I guess club play drove it. Terri appears to have been multi-talented, as
she is listed on the liner notes as doing vocals and bj's. I bet daddy was proud.
