after two weeks of temps hovering around 29C/84F i thought summer was finally over but...
today it reached 34C/93F to give us one last reminder that there is still some burning embers in the furnace.

couple weeks ago I thought winter was over
gave us one last blast of freezing temps for a week
warmin up for good now I hope
still only 1 snowfall for the entire winter
so I can't complain

Temperatures in Ireland are never extreme - no real snow this past winter and never really any heat in summer. But it has not stopped raining for months now. Bloody depressing.

The Easter storms have hit - a little late this year. Trucks being blown over on the mountain passes, boats usually come adrift from their moorings in this kind of gale - a black south easter - super strong winds and rain that sweeps in horizontally. Hectic. And it marks the end of summer rather definitively! Not weather one wants to be out in!

constant temps around 33C/91F over the last week...

either 27C/80F or 28C/82F for the last nine days with another few days of it forecast...
nine days of it in May are a record but rarely consecutively..
average temps this time of year are 22C/71F so well above average...
have received 6mm (1/4") of rain this year so far, well down on previous years also...

expecting the weekend to be a touch cooler with chance of drizzle fri-mon...

a pleasant change from really warm temps.
some cloud cover yesterday and a shower over night which was nice to hear...
expecting more showers over the next week to hopefully (fingers crossed) that a change is gonna come....

i think winter is finally on the way now.
during the last week day temps have hovered around 15C/57F
we have had about 25mm (1") rain this last week and expecting a storm tonight and tomorrow with around 100mm (4.5") of rain, thunderstorms and hail...
just hoping some of the Front makes it inland to the farming regions.
