Movie recommendations please ! - CRAZY-HORSE - 21-09-2016 I used to watch horror all the time and the only one that ever really scared me senseless was the original Evil Dead movie, I find the modern ones I've seen to either lack plot or suspence, mostly they lack both of those elements IMO, The last ok one I saw was "mama" My favourite horror movies are/were: Evil Dead Wrong Turn The Omen Event Horizon (Sci fi horror) Saw (the whole series was pretty good) Wolf Creek( the original was based loosely on true events in Australia) Nightmare on elm street (uniquely original) Alien (if you count that as Sci fi horror??) I lost interest after the first 30 min.Spoke too soon on this one. I saw it again tonight. It got brighter after awhile and can be seen better at night anyway. I'm still shaking inside. Vera and Patrick make the Conjuring movies seem so real. And, Wan has a way about him that makes the movies he makes seem real too. I've seen many many horror movies but these are the only ones that really make me shake inside. They don't scare me but they are so intense! Have not seen that one. I liked the first and second Omen. I liked the Conjuring movies because they are based on real events. Lorraine and Ed I like too mile:
Movie recommendations please ! - CRAZY-HORSE - 21-09-2016 I cant recall if I saw the Conjuring movies or not but I know the name... With Evil Dead, you want the old original from the late 1970s, not the remake from a few years ago nor Evil Dead II from around 1980, they don't live up to the original one, But I don't like many sequels or remakes as a rule, you may like them as obviously people do because they made them. Movie recommendations please ! - Oceansoul - 21-09-2016 I like a good scary movie, oh yeah. Sadly, I haven't found to many as of late that interest me enough to watch them or they are too predictable, or there is nothing new to enjoy. Horror movies are so stagnant in the creativity department right now, come on Hollywood! The last "horror" movie I watched was The Forest with Natalie Dormer in it, it was more like a thriller and there isn't anything scary in it. Recently, horror movies use a lot of darkness in them and it can be difficult to see what's going on sometimes, it's for the atmosphere. In my opinion, subtlety is key to making a great scary film and not everything has to be overt nor in your face. I recall watching The Conjuring, it was pretty good. Movie recommendations please ! - Lovely Linda - 21-09-2016 I don't normally like sequels either. The first is usually always the best. I'll remember that about Evil Dead CH. Thanks! The Conjuring (the first one) was made right here in Wilm. N.C. Oceansoul. We have a film studio. Behind the scenes is a very interesting story. The first one was better but Conjuring 2 to me was pretty good too. Btw, what do y'all think of Ouija boards? Do y'all think there is anything to them? I don't have an opinion on Ouija boards really, my cousin claims she use to have one when she was younger and when she tried it out, something really scary happened and she buried it in her yard. She said the day afterwards, she opened her front door and the Ouija board was there so she kept trying to get rid of it, eventually she just decided to burn it and never touched another one again. Not sure what to make of that story though. I've never touched one. Movie recommendations please ! - Lovely Linda - 21-09-2016 I have a Ouija board. That is why I was asking. Just wondering what your thoughts are. I agree with your cousin. Yeah, if anyone wants to get rid of one they have got to burn the board. We also have right many ghosts here. This is a weirdo town  Movie recommendations please ! - Oceansoul - 21-09-2016 Lovely Linda Wrote:I have a Ouija board. That is why I was asking. Just wondering what your thoughts are. Is there something to Ouija boards? I consider myself on the skeptical side on it, I suppose. I notice some strange things in life, but I've never really felt there was much to Ouija boards other than legend, kind of like how some people might fear mirrors -shrug- I could be wrong since I have yet to use one, I don't even think they are sold here...I dunno. I always like a good scary story though so I like hearing people's experiences and weird happenings. I think that is why I'm attracted to old eerie houses and general haunting stories. Fascinating. I'm weird haha. Have you ever used your board? |
