Bit of a major Jazz-purchasing push going on Chez Tiggi...

These two are part of a 2-disc set which contains four original Basie albums delivered from Amazon for a total of £2.98 (That's very cheap, work it out...).

I've ordered eight sets from this series, plus box sets from Miles, & Bird (Watch this space).

Anyway, these two are fine big-band swing records.
Excellent Tigger! Sounds very cheap indeed.
I need a new turntable to play them on because my old one has had the Sword but, I have Basie and Ellington hanging out of my posterior. Not a great deal of Miles or Bird sadly. Although I do have a fair bit of Bird on CD.
I also have a considerable collection of Ellington and Dexter Gordon on my Hard Drives.

The Joe Williams set is excellent...

Joe is by far one of my favourite vocalists Tigger.
Shirley and I saw him 'live' in Sydney at the Town Hall on Saturday - March 28, 1992 at the JAZZ MASTERS Concert singing with his surrogate daughter, Delilah who is an old and dear friend of ours and with whom I have sung many times.
Just another of the great memories of my life with my late darling girl!

Putting this here because it has elements of Blues, Rock, Funk and 'real' Rhythm and Blues in it.

Great album and depending on which version has a great version of Kansas City on there!

It is a great album. I had never really given Brown's music a chance before.

At Newport is a good live album, but the second one is not so strong. Still enjoyable.

Bebop, Swing, Blues, & Latin are all here...
