Funny you should mention Gran Torino - watched it for the second time a couple of nights ago. Excellent movie. A mate of mine keeps telling me to watch 'The Sheltering Sky' because of the landscape scenes but I have not got around to it yet. Some day.

to be totally honest,
in living memory tears have only welled up in my eyes on two occasions whilst watching movies,
one was te first time I saw Gran Torino...the end wasn't what I expected from Eastwood,
the other time was "the boy in the striped pyjamas"...
now, "the boy in the striped pyjamas" is one of those "must see" movies IMO,
it highlights just how low the human race can get with bigotry...
that movie would also be in my top five or six movies of all time also.

Yes The boy in the striped pyjamas is a must see! Watched The Big Short last night,,good movie about the American economy crash in 2008 blatant government and banks' fraud! Also The Words is very good! Another case of fraud!...very riveting...five stars...unique story!
