I saw a documentary a week or so ago describing how the US are once again arming/re-training Al Qaeda in Afghanastan...
their main objective to secure the world's biggest Lithium deposits...

I don't get the problem with the rebel flag at all.
This is the south. We are rebels just like the north are yankees.
Really got nothing to do with being prejudice.
I'm sure not prejudice but I don't mind being called a rebel.
People down here say yankees are the ones who come and go.
If they stay, they are damn yankees
In Wilmington we have more yankees here than we do rebels.
They are moving down here.
Our next door neighbor had a tag on the front of their car which read damn yankee.

Because the flag is seen as a symbol of oppression by a lot of people.

Yeah I know they do but I don't see it as that. We are southerners and that was and is our flag
as the yankees have theirs.
They should blame the ones who caused trouble not the flag. Just seems silly to me.
America has done some bad things under certain Presidents. If that
is the case, we should do away with the American flag.
No matter what they say the flag is ours and they can't take it away.

What amazes me is after all this time the south and the north can still not get along.
It's like the Hatfields and Mcoys.
Guess for some reason it is in the blood.
I'm sure some in the north have caused problems too.
If we are to take away the confederate flag, take them both away.
Again, it is just a symbol of confederate states.
Nothing more to me.

It's the confederate flag. I don't support what the Confederacy stood for. Symbols can be powerful things, IMO.

Okay got it now after posting.
It's just a flag. We don't all agree with what some think we do.
Didn't mean to make the flag more than what it is.
What I meant by a symbol is it is just a confederate flag. I don't mean
to make it anymore than that. Like the north they have theirs and we have ours.
Look at the problems in Chicago and that is the north.
