Politics - Lovely Linda - 05-04-2017 Oceansoul Wrote:Well, I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe things are different with Medicaid in NC. But I wouldn't want it to go away. I know people who use it and need it, and a lot of people do so I disagree. That change would've negatively impacted low income people on Medicaid. He promised not to touch social benefits btw.No, I don't want Medicaid to go away either but it sure needs to be improved. Mom is on Medicaid. Only reason Medicaid is good here is if someone has to go in a nursing home. Hospital told me to get Medicaid for my hubby but he is not at that stage yet that he needs a nursing home. He has assited care which is great for someone still living at home. It is paid for by Medicare. Politics - Oceansoul - 05-04-2017 Lovely Linda Wrote:No, I don't want Medicaid to go away either but it sure needs to be improved.Ah, I see. Politics - Lovely Linda - 07-04-2017 Any thoughts on Syria?? Politics - Jerome - 07-04-2017 Bashar al-Assad should be strung up from the nearest lamppost. The man is a lunatic. That goes for his idiot shopaholic wife as well. They both know exactly what they have done - and are still doing - to the people of Syria. A murderous pair. And the latest news - https://uk.news.yahoo.com/us-strikes-syrian-airfield-first-013519772.html They should have targeted his residence - not the airfield. Politics - CRAZY-HORSE - 07-04-2017 well said Jerome... 10/10 to Trump for his decision to bomb, I couldnt imagine Obama or Clinton doing it. and either way, the media haven't mentioned this yet but I believe Putin gave Assad the bombs to use as retaliation for the attack in St Petersburg only a couple of days prior to the bombs being dropped... Politics - Music Head - 07-04-2017 ^^ lol 1 for Mr. Conspiracy just one more chess move on the Middle East board check Putin's move so now can we drop this stupid Trump/Russia investigation thing? on the bright side at least I don't have to listen to the talking heads go on about the Supreme Court judge confirmation all day we got killing people going on way to keep them balls in the air Trump Politics - Music Head - 07-04-2017 after having had time to digest the news the narrative has been written the pols are on board I think Trump jumped the gun on his response no I'm not defending Assad the military response was retaliation for a Syrian airstrike involving chemical weapons they deny the charge of course and claim the target was a munitions dump used by Assad's opposition which unknowing to them included the chemical weapons if that is true our response was uncalled for a UN investigation is to be undertaken I would have waited for the results just sayin Politics - Oceansoul - 07-04-2017 I'm still thinking about this action. I don't think we should turn a blind eye when Assad's government targets the Syrian people though. We shouldn't just let him get away with it and using chemical weapons violates international law. Trump's decision does come off as impulsive. I do want to know what the Trump administration will do next. Will the airstrikes be a one time deal as a deterrent or will there be more or will there be a strategic policy made? Just curious. I hope we don't make things worse somehow. Politics - Oceansoul - 08-04-2017 Music Head Wrote:after having had time to digest the newsMaybe Trump should've waited for more info. Still Assad's forces are the likely culprit. Politics - Lovely Linda - 08-04-2017 Assad has a history of killing his own people. So, I am sure he is the culprit. I agree with Jerome. Trump should have ordered the strike at Assad's residence. As far as Putin, I hope this opens Trump's eyes that Putin also is a thug. However, I would not want to see this turn into WW3. This is a dangerous situation for all of us. |
